f**k this baskins shit is frustrating

that place is dead as every night of the week. we'd bring them close to $100 in an hour on thursdays

Let me get this right, a business wants to to go away and not spend your money there cause your scaring away potential customers...

Im shocked and dumb founded, I personally read this as "We dont want your business"...

Other tenants would complain i agree, this would cause friction between them...

Obviously the profit you bring is not worth the hassle to them...

This is the epic depot I was talking about last night: http://www.nearmap.com/?ll=-27.333333,153....mp;nmd=20100912

Thats the wholesale 2nd hand machinery yard that council is trying to shut down...

lick my penis col

i was there, for the very first one (L)

:P

Pretty much lol.

Yeah that's how I read it too.

I'm not sure if I detect sarcasm in your first sentance or not though...

Over winter, the place is a ghost town. Some nights we would be the ONLY customers. Obviously in summer it is busier but I really doubt we are scaring away any customers. And if we are, it wouldnt be more business than the amount we bring.

He sure has changed his tune, from encouraging us to go there and giving us discount to a veritable "F*ck off". I wonder what the true story behind it is...

I guess so, although it has been up till now...

In any case, if we aren't welcome, we will leave. Hopefully his reply is a little more positive.

So, I can go there and buy stuff?

Why is the council trying to shut it down?

Wholesale yard though. We need a group buy on heavy machinery :P

what sort of machinery are we talking here? Annas dad is in the market for one of those bigass skid steer ride on mowers that the councils use.

Maybe if the council is shutting down they will be keen to just get rid of sh*t...

Theres a heap of stuff in there. Trucks, cranes, plant equipment, etc. Not sure about mowers, might be.

I'm keen for a car trailer. They have about half a dozen parked out the front, including one newish looking fully enclosed job (its probably out of the budget but some of the others might not be, especially if they are closing down).

no sarcasm intended

Yes you can!!!

Because its been re-zoned as residential about 12 years ago...

The owner of the land could not sell it due to flood risk (funny now)...

So he is leasing it out to a company who buy and sell second hand machinery...

As is a residential area they have little right to use it as a commercial property bordering on industrial which is illegal...

So council is trying to say selling machinery is industrial but technically they get away with it cause its commercial... politics...

You can save up to 80% this weekend and get a free rug

From the street it looks like anything from bobcats up to big earth moving equipment, worth a look see...

Nays dad bought a bobcat and a kanga/dingo from him a few months back... He was about half the price that everyone else wanted...

I think they buy all their gear at auctions, people desperate to sell then pass the savings on...

He seems to turn over a shit load of machinery, might be a chop shop? :D

As forseen, not a particularily productive day.

It's not even noon, and I am already at home, pretending to be in meetings.

Martin, who were you going to use for your cage? Deliberating between a cheap half bolt in job, or just biting the bullet and doing it right. My mate that was going to do it is too busy with work

Cool, So I guess I just rock up, go down the driveway and ask how much they want for the car trailers?

There's no signs up or anything which is why I wasn't sure what it actually was...

keen to get a small mobile crane. wonder how much that would be...

That's what she said.

Not 100% sure yet, but the first person I plan to talk to is Norm Singleton: http://www.fiatabarthclassicracing.com.au

This is because he apparantly does good work, and specialises in Italian sh*tboxes cars.

    • Hello, sorry for being late to join the discussion, but my clock just died on me.   Ive tried to look at Michaels digital clock repair.docx and it doesnt work maybe the file has expired.   Please let me know if you can re upload it or take some youtube videos to show us how to get the clock installed? thanks
    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
