How much are the Khumo's at Option 1?

Going from memory (it may be the other way round) in my sizes (215/45/17 and 235/45/17) it was something like:

595SS => F $110, R $120

KU31 => F $120, R $110

595RS-R => F $180, R $180 (on special)

Prices per tyre, plus fitting ($5-$15ea depending on if you want them balanced or not, and if they are on a car or loose wheels)

So in those sizes, the SSs and KU31s end up exactly the same price for a set of 4.

You want round phat black babys ? :O

Round phat black sticky babys :thumbsup:

Whilst the khumo might stick a tad better than the feddy SS just remember the SS will run rings around it in terms of mileage.

As an allrounder I still rate the feddy.

I'm not finding that. My last khumos lasted about a year. The SSs look like shagging out in about the same ballpark.

The SSs might have more meat left in the center when I'm done with them, but that doesn't help me if the edges are on belts :P

You're doin it wrong. :whistling:

There's nothing more I can do to reduce the camber wear on the rear. Its the nature of the datto-spec IRS. I have already spent a small fortune getting the base camber reduced as much as I can, but its still a tad over 2 degress, and it's still going to camber the f*ck up when it squats.

I could change the alignment on the fronts to make the tyres last better, but why bother when the rears wear out faster anyway? I like to keep the camber high enough to balance the rears, and I like a little toe out.

Ahem...cough cough.... GET A 33.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This could explain the stormtrooper walking down st pauls terrace with a suitcase this afternoon.

You guys should drive thongslappin' fords and holdens, you only need a good tyre on one side at the rear to get traction in the wet!

Epic night!

Ben (Homo) should get on here more often, then he would have something to do while waiting for his girlfriend to get really smashed at a work function

tears.

Very much so :(

The choice of who to but it from came down to two stores

Store A was slightly more expensive, but their website seemed more professional and they responded to emails quicker. They also guaranteed my phone would be shipped as part of their first batch of stock.

Store B was a bit cheaper, and they weren't sure how much stock they were getting in the first batch so couldn't guarantee they would have enough.

I went with Store A... Store B ended up with a truckload of stock, and worked through the public holiday and got almost all theirs shipped on tuesday. It seems most people who ordered from there's phones are in china already.

Store A has been dicking around, posting blog updates and emails on how hard their life is and how many orders they have to get through, and they hope to have them all shipped by the end of the week!

Backed the wrong horse... :(

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
