Spudnic
Hi, i have a 32 gtr and my link pins are rooted! i was going to upgrade to a whiteline front sway bar and get some whiteline link pins as well but i was told there where not available for my car. Any other ways i can get around this with a decent pair of link pins? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/263348-swa-bars-and-link-pins/ Share on other sites

predator
Is it the pins themselves, or the bushes? This guy can supply bushes if you need them: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ma...rt-t261282.html Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/263348-swa-bars-and-link-pins/#findComment-4509768 Share on other sites

stenve
my sway bar links are actually bent (well one of them) on my gtst. Luckily whiteline do a link kit for gtst so ill be getting some soon. i didnt find anything for gtr whilst doing my search unfortunately. Maybe the gtst ones could be modified a little? OR find some from a wrecked car or similar and have new bushes installed from the above post? JD_R33
Just get some Nolathane adjustable links and cut them down to whatever size you need. http://www.nolathane.com.au/images/product...aybar-links.pdf Bottom of the page, 10mm and 12mm universal links. Cheers, JD Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/263348-swa-bars-and-link-pins/#findComment-4512395 Share on other sites
stenve
sweet good find. might get some of those instead of the pricey whiteline gear. any idea of cost on those universal ones? JD_R33
I ordered a set through Repco about 18 months ago, but can't recall what they cost. Just give one of their stores a ring and quote the part number, they should be able to give you a price over the phone. They're absolutely huge, something like 350mm which I had to cut down to about 75mm to fit on an R33. Seemed like a waste to cut that much off the threaded rod, but oh well......... stenve
too easy i'll give em a call today sometime. so you basically just cut the rod and the ball ends just screw back on? Its threaded all the way? when i first looked i thought you would need to cut it then weld the 2 ends back on haha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/263348-swa-bars-and-link-pins/#findComment-4514088 Share on other sites
JD_R33
Yep, just unscrew the ball off one end of the rod, work out how long you need it and cut the threaded rod with a hacksaw. The thread is pretty coarse, so just needs a clean up with a small file or a die if you have a tap & die set. Just make sure you get the measurements right before you start cutting.......
