Correct.

Think about it.......Noisy, heaps of people, space, privacy non existant.

It just simply isnt a ideal location at all, forget your top notch parking, forget your pies and donuts, You only need to run a meeting once a month or every two weeks MAX, Our club(thats right people i venture to IPRASA club meeting regularly as mentioned WHY im not associating myself here) have our meetings at the Directors hotel on Gouger st, meetings are held every third monday in the month, Its held up stairs in privacy, and in a quiet room. We rock up a bit early and have a dinner and couple beers before the meeting starts, we chat, we mingle, we have a meeting, we chat and mingle some more, we head home, done. All this in a professional manner.

Stewy, Its a bit hard for them to do anything for drift or grip via CAMS out at the track apart from putting dates on a SAUSA calendar, until there are funds then they should go for at least 2 private SAUSA track days a year, which can accommodate grip and drift in the one day. Thats just my views anyways, people can take it or leave it, or argue it, whatever really!!

+1. The club will more than likely have quite a few people who wish to attend the meeting, such a number that Vilis cannot cater for, both by number and noise level. An alternate location is probably what we are after for meetings, such as the room that we had a recent SAU dinner at, the name escapes me at the moment, across from where Parklife is held, i think Madaz organised it.

that wasnt really my point, as a minimum recognising drift or grip practices would be nice considering they are the most popular regular CAMS events on the calendar. so far all i see is a bunch of people wanting to pay $$ just so they can meet up at villis on a friday night. seems pointless to me. i want to know what people expect to achieve out of this club, why should people join besides having a membership card or something? if people want CAMS affiliation so they can get a CAMS license then SCCSA are cheap as shit and they have a lot more to offer (so far)

call me negative, it just seems the only real selling point for this club is the novelty of being apart of the SAUSA club.

u can either call me names (and deeply hurt my feelings, whilst making yourself look infinitely mature), or u can actually provide an answer.

100% agree with you there

i think the prob with vilis and bp west tce is its done to death. every friday sitting around doing the same old stuff, hence why i dont go out of my way to meet u guys. however if im going past i stop and say hello to a few people.

its the same as anzac kmart and freedom back in the day (however freedom was cool lol).

i drive past anzac kmart on the way to town on weekends and see a bunch of commo's parked there sitting around chatting. fair enough, nothing against meeting up with friends (even tho i can see the same cars during work hours; after all commo's in a carpark isnt a uncommon sight). then on the way home from town around 4am theres STILL commo's there. i just shake my head and think, what a night out sitting around doing nothing, if ur gona sit around, do it at a pub or mates place or somewhere entertaining, not a car park or servo. and week after week its the same deal, same shit, different weekend. i hardly see how thats enticing for people to query about what u guys are doing and possibly join in.

and vilis is getting like that, same shit every friday. at least go for a bit of a cruise, mates place, town, hell even another food outlet. people get bored with repetition.

*awaits 'if ur not intereted in joining dont come in our thread as theres nothing i could possibly learn from ur reply' reply.

Ive stayed out of this . I know I probably shouldn't say too much but I gotta agree with the above statement.

I don't mind people meeting on Fridays. Do what you want. TBH tho my weekends are precious to me. I really don't want to sit around vilis and a servo. I did that when I was 17. Its boring.

The reason Im saying this; If I ever have a point to make and you dont agree please dont tell me to come to Vilis, and point out I dont attend events etc.

I have a different life style I guess.

meeting location: the playford

dress code: buisness formal

Tea coffee and muffins provided, cost around 3k.

If you getting this heated on the topic of meeting location guys id hate to see a real issue being discussed at the meeting :D

u can have a meeting where eva has seats. sounds like ppl just dont wanna meet up period, gota have some flexibility maybe even suggest an alternate location. if not just post your suggestions onto somebody thats going seems simple to me, maybe im not seeing something

only thing im wondering about is the benefits of starting the club other than these golden threads  i was thinking along the same lines as nisskid with alternate cams license clubs are available and reasonably cheap for those who want the lincense.

im going back to ducking and watching bullets fly anyways  have fun guys

Same people with the same shit nit picking on stupid things everytime. Everyone that attended the BBQ is happy with how things are going and the progress. The same pricks that keeps dribbling shit out has NOT been to a meet and went through the paper stuff there, listen to what was said and ask questions if necessary there... and is not even interested in joining! But instead, keeps yapping on here dragging shit on stirring shit up. If there is a REAL point to make then PM or call Reuben and discuss it with him there!

Roo can you email me the draft constitution please >>My Email<<

don't cater for me @ the bbq don't think i will make it

+1

The invite was there to PM, email, phone or meet me, to get a better understanding of the club directions. Notice a pattern here that all persons who have approach me or Kell are supporting the club? The invite has been out there to PM me with an email address and I will send a copy of the Constitution. I find the people complaining are the ones who have not bothered to read a copy. Ask for a copy and I will provide.

This club is still in its teething stage, but we are getting there and I'm happy with the progress. Meetings still need to be arranged for memberships, committee votes, and generally informing people of the direction the club is going. SAU SA is in its early stages and we'll take each opportunity as it comes. Ministry of Bass are kind enough to offer their premises ... thanks Simon :) And we wish to meet a time line of '2 weeks for next meeting' then '2 weeks for committee vote' so its an even spread of events. So we just gotta stick to our guns to make that timeline comfortable for most people ... and upsetting mothers on Mother's Day is not my ideal way of doing this.

Saturday 9th May @ 1pm has been confirmed with Simon at Ministry of Bass.

never received i thought it may have just been over looked

^ great post, thats what sau needs more of :) very positive. very clear about what you seen wrong and what should be done to correct this, easy for all to move forward to a positive future.

if you have a problem maybe try and make it clear what the problem is as opposed to weak arguments like 'vilis is shit' and 'only 10yr olds go there on push bikes'. the valid post against vilis was 'its too loud' and another wasnt posted but i know some people dont like the smoke that hangs around in the outside area as it is still rather enclosed.

if a place is boring its generally because of the people there not because of the location, unless you like to stare at walls thoughout the meets.

y is there so much talk of personal benefit, i dont see how there's any personal gain on rubz or any1. are you worried he's gonna steal your cash? he dont seem short of a dollar to me, his pockets aint empty cuz

obviously there is more work to be done, patience and observe how it pans out is the approach im taking :)

apoligies if any of this seems like im trying to give you crap but im just trying to make you structure your critism with some sort of purpose other than flinging poo at someone, cause in the end you all gonna smell like sh*t

because ur creating a club associated with SAU, ur not creating ur own little club off to the side which has nothing to do with us, if u want to go create a club called "hypnotik" or whatever it was originally gonna be then that's fine, but as someone who has been a part of SAU for 4 years, i dont want to see the SAU name go down the shitter with this club.

well i cant see it being anyworse than being associated with threads like this and people getting upset over pie shops.

im pretty sure if ur not a member it dosnt have anything to do with u, for example;

hey are you in the sausa club? i heard they meet at vilis and bp how gay

nah im not in that crap club

problem solved :)

unless you got sau tatooed on your chest or something, sorry dude i just dont understand where your coming from.

what is it inparticular you afraid the club is going to do?

not that im saying we shouldnt look at alternate places if thats what ppl want, dont bother me where we go as long as my cars safe in the park

if u dont think the SAU club will have any implied association with SAU then i really dont know how i can make my view any more clear.

i see the connection just not how it effects u

are you able to be part of the forum and not the club, quite clearly yes.

how does it differ to the current situation of people meeting up without you. none what so ever

you want more racing events organised fair enough but not everyone in the club takes their car to the race track, everyones wants should be taken into account for the club not just yours. thats the idea of a club to benefit all not 1 or 2

Can you guys PLEASE slow down, I had to go back 3 pages just to catch up. Atleast home & away you can miss 3months of it and still know the story! lol

well good and bad. Roo and Kel I got a job in the ACT so im heading off in june, I can still help with ideas from there but I get 6 days on 2 off on the mountain.

And Dan, I think what nisskid is trying to get at is even when I was with SAROTORS not everyone did regularity racing out at the track but those who didnt came along to the events together as a club and helped out. So if CAMS and motor events were included then it could really bring people together as a club instead of just the same people that get together and cruise anzacs each weekend? - Correct me if im wrong, just an observation?

we're getting away from the point and arguing technicalities, which will just complicate the thread further.

as far as the last statement goes, refer back to here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=4563303

i cbf repeating myself.

    • And finally, the front lower mount. It was doubly weird. Firstly, the lower mount is held in with a bracket that has 3 bolts (it also acts as the steering lock stop), and then a nut on the shock lower mount itself. So, remove the 3x 14mm head bolts , then the 17mm nut that holds the shock in. From there, you can't actually remove the shock from the lower mount bolt (took me a while to work that out....) Sadly I don't have a pic of the other side, but the swaybar mounts to the same bolt that holds the shock in. You need to push that swaybar mount/bolt back so the shock can be pulled out past the lower control arm.  In this pic you can see the bolt partly pushed back, but it had to go further than that to release the shock. Once the shock is out, putting the new one in is "reverse of disassembly". Put the top of the shock through at least one hole and put a nut on loosely to hold it in place. Put the lower end in place and push the swaybar mount / shock bolt back in place, then loosely attach the other 2 top nuts. Bolt the bracket back in place with the 14mm head bolts and finally put the nut onto the lower bolt. Done....you have new suspension on your v37!
    • And now to the front.  No pics of the 3 nuts holding the front struts on, they are easy to spot. Undo 2 and leave the closest one on loosely. Underneath we have to deal with the wiring again, but this time its worse because the plug is behind the guard liner. You'll have to decide how much of the guard liner to remove, I undid the lower liner's top, inside and lower clips, but didn't pull it full off the guard. Same issue undoing the plug as at the rear, you need to firmly push the release clip from below while equally firmly gripping the plug body and pulling it out of  the socket. I used my fancy electrical disconnect pliers to get in there There is also one clip for the wiring, unlike at the rear I could not get behind it so just had to lever it up and out.....not in great condition to re-use in future.
    • Onto the rear lower shock mount. It's worth starting with a decent degrease to remove 10+ years of road grime, and perhaps also spray a penetrating oil on the shock lower nut. Don't forget to include the shock wiring and plug in the clean.... Deal with the wiring first; you need to release 2 clips where the wiring goes into the bracket (use long nose pliers behind the bracket to compress the clip so you can reuse it), and the rubber mount slides out, then release the plug.  I found it very hard to unplug, from underneath you can compress the tab with a screwdriver or similar, and gently but firmly pull the plug out of the socket (regular pliers may help but don't put too much pressure on the plastic. The lower mount is straightforward, 17mm nut and you can pull the shock out. As I wasn't putting a standard shock back in, I gave the car side wiring socket a generous gob of dialectric grease to keep crap out in the future. Putting the new shock in is straightforward, feed it into at least 1 of the bolt holes at the top and reach around to put a nut on it to hold it up. Then put on the other 2 top nuts loosely and put the shock onto the lower mounting bolt (you may need to lift the hub a little if the new shock is shorter). Tighten the lower nut and 3 upper nuts and you are done. In my case the BC Racing shocks came assembled for the fronts, but the rears needed to re-use the factory strut tops. For that you need spring compressors to take the pressure off the top nut (they are compressed enough when the spring can move between the top and bottom spring seats. Then a 17mm ring spanner to undo the nut while using an 8mm open spanner to stop the shaft turning (or, if you are really lucky you might get it off with a rattle gun).
    • You will now be able to lift the parcel shelf trim enough to get to the shock cover bolts; if you need to full remove the parcel shelf trim for some reason you also remove the escutcheons around the rear seat release and you will have to unplug the high stop light wiring from the boot. Next up is removal of the bracket; 6 nuts and a bolt Good news, you've finally got to the strut top! Remove the dust cover and the 3 shock mount nuts (perhaps leave 1 on lightly for now....) Same on the other side, but easier now you've done it all before
    • OK, so a bunch of trim needs to come off to get to the rear shock top mounts. Once the seat is out of the way, the plastic trim needs to come off. Remove 2 clips at the top then slide the trim towards the centre of the car to clear the lower clip Next you need to be able to lift the parcel shelf, which means you need to remove the mid dark trim around the door, and then the upper light trim above the parcel shelf. The mid trim has a clip in the middle to remove first, then lift the lowest trim off the top of the mid trim (unclips). At the top there is a hidden clip on the inner side to release first by pulling inwards, then the main clip releases by pulling the top towards the front of the car. The door seal comes off with the trim, just put them aside. The the lighter upper trim, this is easy to break to top clips so take it carefully. There is a hidden clip towards the bottom and another in the middle to release first by pulling inwards. Once they are out, there are 3 clips along the rear windscreen side of the panel that are hard to get under. This is what the rear of the panel looks like to assist:
