Spoke with Simon.

Sorry guys, but if I danced around for everyone, then a date would never be set.

So I'm catering for all the mothers out there and avoiding Mother's Day. Its done and I'm not changing it now.

Can't make it, then see if you can send a proxy or PM me, or meet me at one of the usual hangouts.

:P

lol this is exactly my point, what's the point of a CAMS affiliated club if ur basically shunning people who actually regularly attend CAMS events?

I'd say its a coincidence. Mothers day is unfortunate, I would have come anyhow, and still do plan to attend the sat but thems the breaks. Can't cater to everyone - I myself didn't know there was a track day because I'm not really paying attention to that right about now. Once the club is up and running I'm sure the committee will endeavour to hold it at times compatible to the majority of cams schedules (bear in mind there are a load of events, sometimes a cams event may just coincide with a planned club event. these things do happen, but I can say that its in everyones interests that we keep cams days and club days separate (unless theyre in support of each other :))

i basically said the money the club gets from its members is the clubs bank balance, no members = no money, no money = NO up front paid private track days, NO advertising materials eg banners and shirts, stickers and so on wont be printed up front and in stock at any time.

If you had taken some interest in the club from the beginning and had attended the meeting you would know that there is already a source of money that the club use and get it up and running even if there are only a few members to begin with, not all money has to come from members joining.

I imagine though you are not particularly interested in joining the club but here to perhaps stir a little brown stuff, so really why would you bother posting here and wasting your obviously precious time and thoughts.

So unless you have ways to get involved and help to get the club on its feet and through its first year how about entertaining yourself in another thread :)

Shane i thought you would have been older enough to know better........READ ALL MY POST CAREFULLY and it will answer ALL of your questions about why i had not gone to the meeting or to why i dont want to join.

Last time i looked it was a open forum, where ANYONE can post their thoughts as you have done........Well Done, If you dont like what i have written then simple, dont continue to read it, dont reply, Once again i thought you would be old enough to know and understand this, If you and the rest of the people on here cant take constructive critisism then thats your problem, not mine. Like i said im far from being here to win friends, im just posting my and what seems to be alot of peoples views on this matter, and alot of you are seeming to read what has been written the wrong way, once again, not my problem!!

If you guys dont want the likes of me sharing info, then pay the money up front get the club registered and create a "Private Section" where all you ladies can organize all your meetings at Villis and West Tce.

Sorry to put your name and your mates name Martin down to the organizers to help out, seems as tho i am in the wrong again?? just cant please all the ladies out there can ya!!

Wanna be friends on Facebook again?? :):(

Your making me want to go fishing again Shane, stop it!! :)

Indeed, I've already made a donation.... but I appreciate Deluxes post and viewpoint and I believe that before too long all his questions will be answered :(

I wont say any more because at this stage I just want to see a basic structure made, and enough cash raised to establish the thing, then set a reasonable annual fee and a truly democratic structure.... I think its in the best interests of the club that everyone on the organisation committee (me, others, etc) exclude themselves from the nominated positions to ensure transparency... because a lot of you guys out there think that we're doing this to start a personality cult or something else (I've heard some bizarre points lately so you'll excuse the theatrics)... its all good, we're going to run it by the numbers, note down everything and everything will be done via ballot. i'm going to advise that after the first 3 months there are elections for new committee and afterwards it'd be done on an annual basis

however, thats just my personal agenda. if anyone else has anything constructive that they think we should be aware of, please do post. The keyword is constructive criticism (which many of you have given us some excellent ideas so far, so thankyou guys!) but comments like 'your ideas r teh sux' will mostly be ignore unless they are followed with an argument as to just >why< they suck :)

Edit - Would just also like to add - this isnt some clique. I'm not part of any weekly meets, and neither are many of the people who want to see this get off the ground. I just don't understand why ya'll are saying that it has anything to do with villis or bp meets aside from a couple of members being on the interim committee...(since I rather hate the location personally, i dont bother going most nights since its after work for me ;P)

Edited by Dohmar
Why do some people make out Villis and West Tce like such a bad place? Is it because its not a different fancy restaurant location everytime with meals costing an arm and a leg?(yes, exaggerated)

i dunno man, it just seems like running the gauntlet from where i come from, that and the fact i'm semi blind and the lack of lighting does nothing for me ;P

yeah they make dope pies... and its good for the impromptu meets... i cant argue that

its just cause its so common, i generally cbf after work ;D

however if a dinner was at a curry bar or some kinda azn, then i'd be there like a fat kid to a pie eating competition >

does anyone out there have a paddock where we might be able to execute a sheep and chuck it on a bonfire until we can sup upon the roasted flesh ?

a few people feel to intimated to join the meets at the likes of Vilis and BP me thinks, the so called "family" is just a group of friends that once, didnt know each other from a bar of soap, but attended a few regular meets, its not about becoming best of friends omg i want you as my best man, but everyone gets along, thats what the club is about. anyone is more than welcome!

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
