Firstly i thought i would share a bit of history of the car

**these first pics are from a previous owners posts on another forum**

here she is b4 it all started

wagon.jpg

the guy, then shaved off the rear door handles, and the gay airvent

wagon2.jpg

wagon1.jpg

then it was given a budget respray

blue1.jpg

after this the guy put in in the 4k and strapped a 2nd hand t28 turbs on there

turb_wagon1.jpg

this is the previous owners finished project

wagonb1.jpg

wagonb2.jpg

when i bought it, it had a newer turbo on, and some ass hat had put the stock carby back on. here are some pics of it pretty much as it was when i picked it up

IMG_0096.jpg

the fuel tank was pissing fuel out of it (would drain 45lt over night) and the carby was dropping fuel straight onto the exhaust housing of the turbo :)

IMG_0207.jpg

the other thing i have done is get some TRX wheels on the old girl... had nightmares with wheelnuts

needs a wash, but u get the picture

IMG_0210-1.jpg

i tried to mend the tank with a stick welder (the big weld was already on there.. i just made the hole lol)

photo.jpg

also the plenum for the carby is being modified, the inlet needs to me facing toward the turbo so i can use the same pipe between the carb and turbo

needs to face the front of the car, and not across the rocker cover

IMG_0190.jpg

i got a hookup with an ex-hot rod builder who was willing to take an oxy torch to the tank and fix the plenum

here is the fixed plenum:

IMG_0239.jpg

and the tank now has massive weld on it (previously just had a dirty big one)

IMG_0240.jpg

it still leaks the tiniest bit, but i will fix that with putty. due to the way the fuel system is set up (no return line so that fuel runs thru the exhaust into the turbo to give me a bit moar power) it pressureises the tank to 9psi making the leak seem bigger than it is.

here is a mock up of the induction pipe and plenum :

IMG_0241.jpg

and here she is all plumbed up. i had to do alot of sketchy grinding on the induction pipe to fit well... didnt have anything to hold it so i had a well rickety rig holding it together

IMG_0246.jpg

IMG_0247.jpg

IMG_0248.jpg

please note the use of cable ties to keep the throttle cable in place, and my ghetto bracket to keep the fuel line off the rocker cover lol

also my kick ass oil breather (11ty extra kw right there).

need to play with plug gaps and timing to get her running... it will go without the turbo plumbed in (although not very well atm) and stalls with it all together.

more updates as the come :)

yeah ryan had it for a short while... he got frustrated with it and kicked the shit outta the passenger side quarter panel lol

dont make me come over there, drink all your beer and call you lazy!

awesome motivation... do you live in a van by the river?

Almost the same colour as my old 200B ... which I threw in an SR20DE and supercharged it! :)

awesome!, one day i might throw a better motor in, but atm im a bit adverse to spending much $$ on it cos i got it pretty damn cheap. dont want it to owe me as much as the 32

i have a spare gearbox in the shed, and on the lookout for a diff that is ok (might weld the one that is in there for when i wanna have fun).

a mate of a mate has started a white walling company, and since its not a VN commodore i reckon it will look good :)

    • 2 spots that my exhaust guy joined the 2 pipes together  Made a big difference. I'm now able to live with it. I can make it louder if I want by removing the HKS caps.
    • Hi all, considering clutch upgrade to support 1130 engine hp from 1650cc injectors on e50 at 85% duty cycle (1650 x (11.85/14.7) x 85%). Narrows down to these three as they can be converted to use gm 26 spline input shaft if I ever want to use transmission with that input shaft (orc1000f and r3c easy/cheap just change center hub; tr2cd pricier must change clutch discs). Pricing orc1000f similar to tr2cd, r3c about usd 200 pricier. Orc1000f triple plate 200mm. Tr2cd twin plate 215mm. R3c triple plate 215mm. Claimed max torque : orc 1000f 723 lbs ft; tr2cd 800 lbs ft; r3c 1100 lbs ft. Why orc1000f triple plate but claims lower max torque vs tr2cd twins? Is orc1000f underrated? Any info maxing out these clutches? Info on street/traffic driveability/pedal feel? Thank you for any info on them.
    • Some troubleshooting, connect up a timing light/gun with a proper ignition lead on coil 1. Hold the revs at 4~4500rpm and see if your timing is all over the shop, scattering off its tits. If so, there's a high chance your CAS is fked. But I read you have a Link ECU ready to go in, why not just skip all this and put that in - will make troubleshooting so much easier.
    • Misfires when the car is fully warm are generally attributed to the coils (and/or the igniter, on cars with a separate igniter). They can stop working properly when they get hot for a number of reasons. Either electric/electronic, or from thermal expansion opening up gaps and allowing HV leakage. Seeing as you have replaced the coils, that could/should rule them out. But I wouldn't always assume so. Were the coils genuine? Or is there a chance you have bought some counterfeit Chinesium shit? Then we're back onto loom connections. They can fail when warm/hot for the same reasons. Inspections, cleaning of contact surfaces, ensuring that terminals are fully inserted, etc etc, are all justified. The same (heat effects) holds true for the other electrics and their connectors. AFM & CAS, primarily. If you try that Chinesium AFM, drive it around on low load until it is properly hot, but do'nt give it more load than you have to, except when you need to see if it will still miss. I'm dead serious about the untrustworthiness of the calibration of those copy AFMs. Injectors are unlikely to get hot unless the fuel is coming back around hot. You could try squirting them with compressed air or freeze spray to cool them back down to see if they are maybe the cause.
    • Alright, all the plugs looks good. Noticed that it starts to get bad when the car is up to temp, that's when things starts to misfire hard. next to do is Injector cleaning and such. Got in touch with a shop to do work on the injectors next Monday also help on diagnosis.
