LOL oh, much more than that.... but most importantly, it means you're an idiot.

ok thanks, now i know not to give a shit about ur opinion next time i see one of ur posts.

ur probably one of those guys who sits in his garages in the nude polishing his skyline, with a container of polish in one hand, "some for you, some for me", then starts a thread when a rock bounces up and puts a chip in ur paint.

lols my heat gun and mallet didnt do the job still sometimes rub when i go over big bumps.

so me n mate attacked it with heat gun and a pole.

A1 job of rolling guards :)

why pay someone when u can do it yourself.

my thoughts exactly, poles ftw.

and i mean that in the most heterosexual way.

whip out the angle grinder, it works a treat! no paint cracks, no buckles, and does a much better job.

See what happens next time when someone accidently leans or bumps on your wheel arch a little hard, especially the front guards. The factory lips are folded back at 90 degrees like that for a reason, to maintain the integrety, strength and the general shape of the wheelarch. Grind it off and you've weakened it.

exactly, as a minimum u want to keep the lip, just folded up against the guard.

pole takes like 5 mins a corner not even.

driving to a place to get it professionally done and paying someone 40-50 a corner and seeing them do it in a few mins.

rather do it myself. and save time and money.

but if u guys like to get your tires professionally shined etc

go for it =]

yeh, there's no right or wrong way to go about it, if u dont plan on scrubbing rails or walls and u want ur car to look clean, professional is the way, but if ur not really fussed about minor details and u just want some more clearance, pole/hammer/clamps are fine.

GOD SOME PEOPLE DONT DESERVE TO OWN SKYLINES !!! YOU CRUEL BASTARDS !!! GRINDERS ? HEAT GUNS ? F*CK ME !!! FOR F*CKS SAKE, HAVENT YOU PEOPLE EVER HEARD OF 'DO IT PROPERLY OR DONT DO IT AT ALL ??????'

Dude, Ive had some workshops quote up to $200+ for each corner...... Your best bet is, get yourself a 'guard roller', Its a device, you remove your wheel, bolt it to the hub, and it contains an arm and a roller, starting at the middle, you work your way back and forth and tightening it up as you go, slowly and surely pumping it out, professionals use the same tool. Ive seen it for sale at VG AUTOPAINT at Girraween (NSW) for about $150 !!! you could even start your own business and get your money back after one job LOL

Go to this site, its got all the pics of what Im talking about.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for that pearl of wisdom Captain Obvious. As for the heat gun idea, applying heat during the procedure is acceptable practice. It's great that you take pride in owning a 'Line but FFS dude, lighten up.

Just so that people know, hitting the wheel arches with a grinder is in fact defactable - cutting into the main body. I mean, if the cop was stupid an un-observant, then it's all good, but these cops are becoming smarter and more clued-on within the modifying circles - lots of cops, especially highway patrols, are rev-heads themselves and if they really want to defect a wheel arch that been angle-grinded, then you're f*cked... If I was a cop, Id do exactly THAT to be a pr*ck just because that kid drives a Skyline ..... and dont say it wont happen....grinding the lip off weakens the entire wheel arch etc etc...you can return a pod filter to 'factory' with the stock airbox, but what are you gonna do about the hacked up wheel arch ? find some new guards and replace them I suppose....pretty easy huh ? especially those rear ones.....

    • Before I commit to it as I already have the wastegate off the car, would you change it to the 9psi spring instead of the 12, or whack it back on now and try your suggestion?   Edit: Actually I might just swap the spring and see what the logs say after another few pulls, as we know it's still spiking without the Mac valve in the picture so I need more data without the Mac valve trying to combat the issue.
    • Sounds good Hmm suppose the main thing is, how much do you care about this car? The filler doesn't make for a very good water barrier lol. If there was a tiny little bit of rust forming now, that in 3 to 5 years time becomes obvious under the paint (starts to bubble up), would it bother you?
    • I already have the ability to datalog the voltage... what I can't do is correlate it to what the gauge is showing when I'm looking at the data at a later date. Or something like this. Except getting the oil to 125C+ involves me going 200+kmh at the track so you can imagine this is a little tricky unless I do something like note what the voltage is when I am at the top of 5th gear so I have a point to reference on. Drove car today. O2 still reading richer because hopefully not a leak instead of massive restriction I've introduced. Car really doesn't sound like a LS. It's quite strange. Pulled a bit of fuel out up top. This does potentially explain why my spark plugs looked like the car was running pretty over-rich. If I was tuning it to a ~12.7 which in reality was far richer than that in the past. It will be handy to have the dyno WB to compare my WB to to compare notes that's for sure. At this point I'm happy to just sit in the passenger seat and tune the thing given I've got about 7 million hours on the platform lol.
    • Yeah I understand you have to pay for an updated map or subscription service or something. But I can't even find a current map for Australia. My map is dated 2017, but didn't this car version still sell in Australia until 2021?   Also, just as an aside, the navigation system warns you of traffic incidences ahead.....why would they include that on a map they knew is not receiving live information. I am forever going to be warned of an incident that probably existed for 30 minutes 8 years ago.
