Your clutch is now gripping where before it was slipping. The old clutch was not spinning the wheels as much as with the new clutch since you've had it installed.

The issue is not with your clutch, but more with your suspension and/or tyre setup.

Yeh, the new clutch will no longer slip as much. It will lock in much quicker than before. So your wheels will get jolted and skip. You should also wear in the new clutch before giving it stick.

Stiff suspension, and grippy tyres are also factors

    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
    • Continental have consistently beaten the absolute shit out of every other performance tyre in Wet/Damp/Cold conditions and give up a little bit of time (half a second at most) in the dry. Almost like it's engineered for German conditions or something. I'd def give those a try.
    • I refer you to this thread on PF, by someone who knows what he's doing. Paints a good picture of the humble AD09.

    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
