Correction from wasteland: Richmond board meets Tuesday night not tonight.

Who'll go first.... Wallace or Harvey? I'll bet Wallace even though I'm a little surprised he hasn't got results yet at Richmond, he'd done a decent enough job at the Western Bulldogs I thought.

yeah that's the key cause clearly the Saints are the most in-form team so far this year so I hope they don't blow us away......kicking long to the square does work as we proved on the weekend so why we don't always play like that frustrates me!! Lol, we've got Warren Gary & Lade who can take a good contested mark in a pack not to mention Jezalinko jnr :woot: (what a screamer he took)!!

The saints are doing pretty well, but i think we have a good chance of breaking their winning streak. They havent a good past playing against us at AAMI... We'll see.

I'm bloody excited! first game ill be attending this year, then showdown week after! I'll be coming home with no voice as usual...

that mark WAS an absolute ripper; Logan wasnt it? Pity he missed the goal after! The defence was brilliant as well, that Roughead hardly touched the ball, and the boys did pretty well keeping Franklin off the ball as well

Wallace has shown that he can at least coach (ie Doggie days) so what does it tell you about the mind set of the players??

Were they all hoping Cousins would do it single handed so therefore no need to have a good pre season??

Or do they suffer from the number 9 stigma (where they finish on the ladder each year - just out of the finals, for those that aren't AFL savvy) which has plagued them for years??

I don't think they should dump Wallace yet....leave it till at least mid season.

On the other hand, Harvey has not yet proven that he can coach and should've stayed as the Bombers assistant coach.

People (Vic & SA media) are looking at how bad Melbourne & Richmond are travelling but the real pretenders are Freo.....they tend to go unnoticed cause they're so far away.

Biggest under achievers for as long as I've been watching footy, and that incudes the dismal Fitzroy era!

I totally agree, they should be looking at the attitude of the playing group, somehow I think Wallace will take the fall!

Freo are a joke and they've missed opportunities in the last couple years, now those senior players that could play have retired and one has returned to your team.....!

Yeh i agree, the troubles at Richmond go much deeper than just the coach, he can only tell them how to play, if they don't play to their plans, which im thinking they aren't, it isn't the coaches fault. And you can ask Wallace, he isn't about to start slagging off on his own team. Be interesting to see, when he does leave, what he has to say about the whole club in general.

Freo, Melbourne and Richmond seem to be the ones consistently struggling, Richmond seems to win whenever Richo is in a good mood, Melbourne need all their stars to fire to be able to beat the middle-of-the-table teams, and Freo rely heavily on the Pavellator.

Port are in good form at the moment, Warren Gary playing like he hasn't played in ages, apparently his knees are cherry ripe.

Give Adelaide a couple of years, it seems we have finally learnt how to recruit for once, and picked up/introduced finally some youngsters with genuine ability, Petrenko, Walker and Dangerfield.

yeah I don't know what it is with your blokes Damo.

They showed they match up with Geelong on occasion but that'll never win you games against a team like that.

Don't think it's a fitness issue cause they normally have pretty disciplined pre-seasons.

Leaves me to 2 possible conclusions:

1). Like many teams, when the pressure gets too much they play panic footy, which is actually unusual for them, so it could be the young kid factor.

or

2). The much talked about zone defence (which is Craig's undoing in most finals) aint working for you.

We showed that when we do kick long to the 50, we have that 50/50 chance to convert......I think you're missing Roo who used to constantly bomb them into 50.

yeah agreed, we finally have a couple of blokes who can take a grab in the forward 50, Tippet being one, but no-one to deliver. Goodwin needs to take charge of that role, he can kick a mean bomb. We weren't ever going to beat Geelong, and it was a fairly gallant effort to keep up for a bit, but we lack a bit of big game experience i think, another downside of having youngsters.

how would you like to be Brown or Richo (Tigers)......Pav or Gardiner (Freo)......Robo or Whelan (Demons) and know that you'll never ever see the big stage for the rest of your career.

I thought the whole reason for playing footy is to see the last day in September.......none of them ever will unless they leave & go elsewhere.

Unfortunately age is not on their side.

yeah that really gets my blood boiling.....what a waste of suspensions.

Don't get me wrong, I love the shirt front and the big bump within 5 metres of the ball and I still think we should play "hard at the man, hard at the ball footy".....but some of those acts were gutless and pointless.

And when they get suspended the whole team suffers.......I'm a bit pissed with Pete Burgoyne at the moment.

At first I thought it was the Carr factor influencing the boys, now that he 's back, but I don't think so now.

I think in Pav's case he wanted to stay at Freo for the $$$$, he had his chance to return to SA with either club.

Crows are also sorely missing Bassett imo and I doubt Rutten is 100% fit. I don't understand why Moran hasn't been picked either when he's proved he can go forward and take a grab.

as much as Gil is all over the place sometimes, bloke can take a good pack mark up forward, seems to have sorted some of his kicking issues out too. Hes a big lad too, good base to start building some muscle, dont see why he wont get regular games int he future.

    • Welcome to my 2004 Toyota Mark ii IR-V Fortuna (series 2) With a 1JZ-GTE powerplant under the bonnet (hood) it'll give me plenty of scope for power upgrades. For those who aren't familiar with imports, the 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L 6 cylinder VVTi engine with a single turbocharger. This has the factory R154 5 speed gearbox, along with a aftermarket 2 way LSD differential (brand unknown). Under the arches are a set of CST Zero 1 alloys, 18x9 +30 225/40 up front and 18x9.5 +15 265/35 on the rear. The car was quite low in Japan and there's evidence of the wheels catching the rolled arches/fenders. The tyre's aren't great so I'm in two minds whether to replace both or just the tyres and put up with the wider wheels on the rear. The car still uses stock brakes with the addition of some braided hoses. The exterior is stock with the exception of a BN Sports front bumper and a replacement Fortuna grill  Moving to the interior, the steering wheel has been replaced with a dished MOMO steering wheel (which will get swapped for my Momo Tuner for the time being) Defi Link Gauges are mounted above the climate controls and on the A pillar, the Oil Temp,Oil Pressure,Water Temp and Boost gauges should help with spirited and track driving  The stock seats have been replaced with some retrimmed Recaro bucket seats. Being a larger build these are a little snug, unfortunately the orange isn't for me so I'll look into replacing these down the line. Other modifications include a twin plate clutch, Blitz intercooler, Evolve alloy radiator, a stainless exhaust with decat, HKS EVC-S boost controller and coil overs
    • Apologies for the long read My R34 GTT was up for sale at the beginning of spring due to a few repairs creeping up. The strut tops needed replacing, roof and bonnet (hood) painting (yay for 3 stage pearl) and the underside stripped and treated. I sold the car which allowed me to be in a much better place financially. Leading up to the sale I was already thinking about the replacement. In an ideal world it needed to be a good all-rounder. Something I can mess around with, modify, do track days, do the school run, go on long drives etc.  Options included but not limited to... Laurel C35, Evo 8/9, Civic FD2, Impreza Hawkeye, Aristo and even an Audi S4 Avant (I've already got the Mazda 6 wagon). But there was always one car at the top of the list The Toyota Mark ii JZX110 I found an advert on a Facebook group for an example in Japan, from a seller called Jon at Rising Sun Exports. A few messages back and forth and Jon calls me from Yokohama one morning (or afternoon in his case). He briefly explained the import process, the costs involved and a repeat of the advert. After much deliberation, the price was agreed and the sale was locked in. I've never imported a vehicle so I jumped into the unknown head first. The money transfer was completed through wise.com (fees apply), very easy to use and the money was with him within a day or two.  The car suspension was raised for the vessel and the car dropped off at the port. It was 7 weeks later when the bill of lading was received and the freight invoice sent to me, followed by the export certificate a couple of days after (both digital copies) In the mean time the port had been in contact. I needed an agent to deal with the NOVA (notification of vehicle arrival) along with the tax/duty invoice, this was £75.00. The port also had a fee of £100, I'm guessing to cover the cost of the 10 day 'free storage' and for moving the car off the boat etc. They need a copy of the vehicle invoice, freight invoice and export certificate to allow the vehicle to pass through customs. The vessel arrived on Tuesday 5th August, the tax/duty invoice was generated and sent over. This is generally tax 20% and duty 10% of the vehicle value. Although the invoice came in at a higher amount than I had calculated. Once HMRC had received the payment the vehicle could be released from customs. I thought once the tax/duty was paid you could collect at any point, that's not the case. Your agent will need to book a collection slot, I requested Thursday 7th which was accepted, with a 9:00am slot allocated. It was a 5:00am start from Norfolk heading to Southampton. We eventually found the compound, upon presenting the bill of lading and some ID they released the car (they drove it out of the compound to the front ready for us to load up). The email from the port stated each slot had a 10 minute window, which seemed abit farfetched but the staff said it's not a strict rule. We were there for approx. 30-40 mins in total. A week prior to collecting I contacted my garage and explained the situation, I was able to get an inspection slot that afternoon. For the registration, DVLA require the car to be insured, for this I used a company called Adrian Flux who can insure the vehicle using the VIN number.
    • Hey guys, looking for these side skirts if anyone can help me out.
    • Wife and I are still looking for a new home. One condition was a large enough garage for a full-size lift in one bay. Now if only we could find something... We've been looking for almost a year now.
    • Thanks everyone for the ideas! Sadly, ramps are a no go for me. With young kids at home, I do most of my work late at night while they're sleeping. Starting the car multiple times wouldn't be a great idea.  I'll go see one of those new long reach low profile jacks and take a couple measurements to see if they will fit.
