You are so warm there on your last point Steve it's not funny........it's a sore but quiet point amongst Port supporters cause we actually like Dom.

Wouldn't hold your breath on the umpire issue though, it'll get worse before it gets better. 3rd umpire is alive and well up high on the SANFL goal posts and he's coming to AFL sooner than later.

In regard to chokers tag.

If you think port are still chokers you better add every other team that has been beaten by a large sum to the list then ?

The card system you mention Krishy is interesting. However umpires are wrong 2432 times a game. Wouldn't it be unfair if you got sent of with the card system for something you didn't even do / ? I think the video evidence makes sure (most of the time) nothing slips through.

Well to be honest us soccer players have to put up with it....i have only once got a red card in my playing time....being a goalkeeper I was "WTF U CANNOT BE SERIOUS" and stuff but you just take it on the chin and move along....soccer players at an elite level...where there is video footage....have the right to argue the Red Card.....but if found guilty then you cop another match sentence......fair in my system i reackon....it would be interesting in the AFL scene thats for sure

Some Fair points.

I see AFL getting quicker and quicker. I don't think they want to slow it down by having on field video footage and arguments.

Krishy you make a good arguement but the interpretation of the rules currently in the AFL system is a nightmare in comparisson to soccer, so unlike soccer, there would be too many discrepancies IMO.

Rules change every year in the AFL (unlike soccer) then the umpires absolutely struggle to interprete them. What constitutes a 50 metre penalty against you in an away game may not be awarded or applicable in your home game.....umpires are swayed by vigilent home crowds and don't let anyone tell you different.

So all I'm saying is, the card system is alot more clear cut in soccer (when it comes to dishing them out) than it would be in footy, which is why it works for you guys I guess.

What he said ^.

Geelong v. port game was a shocking umpiring game.

Would like to see umpires getting warned./suspended from games for such things as 'Not being in the right line of sight, Acting like a hero, uncalled for 50m penalties, not opening eyes properly, being on the piss'

I think the 50m penalty is getting a little overused. If you want to stamp more authority and flaunt the rule atleast change it to 25m. .50 is an almost certain setup for goal for something as simple as blowing a kiss at someone.

Don't know if you managed to see any of the West coast V Hawk's game on sat night but the umpiring was shocking! What they manage to give free kicks away for in the first 6 games of the year they never give for the rest of the year (hands in back a good one). Agreed with 50m penalty though!

Shocked they gave choco another couple of years honestly, i thought they might've tried something new but oh well their club see how it pans out....

Big game on sunday this week  Go sainters!

good effort from Port today. glad they turned the heat up in the last quarter.

Josh Carr made me laugh, he must have been giving that Brennan a fair taunt to cop a headbutt from him

Rodan is just a freak! such good midfield talent

2nd & 3rd quarter last wk against the Cats and last quarter today shows a team that has the potential to blow away any team.........problem is, they have to put 4 quarters like that together.

The amount of ball we had out of the middle was just awesome but I did panic after the 2 quick goals in junk time (within 30 seconds) of the 3rd quarter

Well done Crows, good game.

WB vs Hawks.........13 goals to zip by 1/2 time!!!!!!

Can someone explain to me how they won a flag last year against a side that's only lost about 3 games in the last 60?????!!!!!! :)

Ahhh easy Pete....They used the rushed behinds to their advantage to setup for a rebound attack and Mooney couldn't kick straight (nor the whole Geelong team)...Thats how they lost the GF!

I'd be disapointed to only beat richmond by that much really, they should've beaten them by more, i think when they get to play some higher teams again i think they'll go down...They only just beat sydney as well last week.

Well done to melbourne to beating west coast and here's hoping speedy recovery for Jim Stynes!
