GTKitty - yes, they have rules to follow..... but alot of them are on a power trip and use their power to bend you over. 95% of the cops I run into are ****wits, but thats cos they are traffic cops. I know a few dudes in the force and they detectives or something nice and high... and they are top blokes. Its just these traffic cops in dead end jobs are the lowest of low and have nothing better to do than to **** people over.

Well i aint disagreeing there. Some coppers are losers, but you have to wonder why they are that way. You cant assume that if you copped constant abuse for doing your job by a bunch of loud lil smartasses that you would be pretty unreasonable too...

At risk of condemning myself I wanna be a copper... thing is that i know the other side and respect that car enthusists are for the most part well behaved, decent blokes who wanna do nothing more than talk cars with other enthusists, for that reason i wanna make it a lil more equal (not if) but when i get in there.... just for kicks too.... i wouldnt be able to help myself but play up in a patrol car. :P only pull you up if you beat me in a drag hehe

I dont think that i understand what you are trying to say Chaos. I dont wanna be a copper to be respected... i know that if thats the case that i would be suffering every type of denial imaginable if i beleived that i would be respected. All the same i reckon that if both cops and car enthusists were willing to work together that the problem would be resolved alot more. Being willing to assist the coppers would only prove that you are not doing anything illegal and that way all those losers doing bunrouts at BWCP, wrecking it for everyone else would be found out and dragged over hot coals because of it.... by cops and enthusists alike.

Getting off that topic though.... who is going to Street Torque next weekend??

coppers arnt gonna get the respect the deserve if they pull over every nice car on the road. They pull over a car for the fun of it they harrass people cause there bored. All this money there spending on the "hoon" squad could be spent improving other things. I've seen countless footage of police edging ppl on in drag races etc.

Police have been invited to a number of car cruises to keep an eye on things and yet they see it as a perfect opportunity to harrass car lovers. People took the time to invite them and they do that. How can car enthusists work with police if they do this. Police should stop wasting tax payers money and catch real criminals out there.

I saw four brand new electric blue high profile Falcon V8 patrol cars coming off the Ring Road in Melbourne in a convoy. They all looked a little older and real serious except the last guy who was slowing back to get some space from the others and then herbing it up with this huge grin on his face. Obviously an enthusiast in the best kind of car....someone elses!! More of this guy on the force........

I had a pleasant experience last thursday on the way to work.

In Brisbane heading towards Ispwich on Ipswich rd just prior to the Cunningham HWY exit in an 80 zone a motorcyle cop got me doing 103 in an 80 zone. That's just under the over 25km/h bracket, which was 3 points and $250.

I guess what might have helped my cause was he didn't even get to signal me to pull over. I knew I was gone and indicated and pulled over before he did anything.

I said good morning and he told me I was doing 103 in the 80 zone. I said I knew I was over the limit but didn't think that it was that much. He just turned the gun around and showed me the reading. I said "well the laser doen't lie"

He asked me for my license and asked why I was going so quickly. I just told him i was late for a brief at work. (Im in the RAAF and was wearing my uniform-flying suit)

He said that he didn't like booking RAAFies and told me to take it easy and let me go.

I was pleasant he was as well, and when I got to work i told everyone that I'd just met the nicest mototcycle cop on the planet.

What's the moral to the story? There isn't one, I guess i was just lucky. ;0

    • From experience, it will come back to bite you haha.
    • Background: my BMW 225i hatchback (rebodied MINI/X1) came with 3x RE003 and 1x Goodyear Asymmetric something. The RE003 roared and slid around, the Goodyear side was quiet and grippy. Definitely my car was thrashed before it got sent to dealers. My brother also got RE003 all round on his old VA WRX STI, I wasn't impressed with them, car was loud so can't comment on noise. Anyway, Hankook stopped making/updating V12 Evo2. So bought S1 Evo3 runflats. Great daily duties tyre and not that harsh ride. Tyre reviews site/youtube rated them as best stopping in the rain and I believe them. Next set, Goodyear Asymmetric 5 non-RFT. It beat PS4 in tests and is like $100 cheaper, so put them on. Great tyre, more grip then S1 Evo3 but a tad noisier as expected, still rocking them. Next set I am looking to go runflats, probably the new Hankook Evo. Although the new Pirelli PZ5 did well in tyrereviews test. Or go Goodyear Asymmetric 6 which was top tyre last year. The V12 Evo2 on my gen5 Liberty GT wagon did great in cold condition (drove to snowy mountains for a day so my husky can feel his ancestor's roots). Super impressive performance for $120 each lol. Never skimp on tyres, brakes, suspension. There's old pics of my R31's crappy random brake pads bending in the caliper at Oran Park track day somewhere around here. Anyway, my 2 cents.
    • I said "Matlab clone". I could throw one onto one of my linux VMs. Probably only take 10 or 20 hours to sort out the dependencies, relearn how to use it, etc etc.
    • Hi all, got myself a 400R end of last year. Few tasteful mods done so far. Love the thing. Has anyone got any suggestions for sourcing bodykit parts for them over here???
