did anyone else see that car on Orrong Road last night? near Archer Street?

about 8:20, I drove past and the FESA people were just rocking up. I think the police closed the westbound lanes.

not sure if anyone was inside the thing, but it had hit a tree and the fire was so intense I couldnt see inside the car..flames about 20ft high.

Just wondering if there were people in it or if was stolen and torched.

Scary either way..

nah - but it had been. the roads were wet though.

The impact at the front of the car didnt seem that extreme (though you never know with a volvo), such that you might expect with a stolen car that has lost it and then been torched..

..which is what made me think that they'd ruptured a fuel line or something...

pretty nasty sounding.... sounds like you werent far away from the action...

i saw a car that ruptured a fuel line in mandurah at the lights and the forum about a year ago thankfully all the people in the car got out in time but the were crying a pretty stirred up....

many people standing around near the accident...? possibly driver etc? or was it pretty empty... (maybe didnt get out) :)

I went through archer st lights on orrong rd at about 12pm Saturday and there was major carnage then too!

Magna had decided to turn across traffic there and said good bye to most of its front end. Looked messy.

Ambo's n cops everywhere.

Not a good weekend for that part of town it seems.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
