Power to weight is 170kw per tonne.

So a R33 with 1400kg would need 250kw, =~250rwhp. Which is double. Just traction issues for both. More for 33.

yeah but wikipedia and red book says this stat and that stat and blah blah blah lol, power is a question of money, someone will always be faster.

a budget u've set of like $500-$1000 on a basically stock R33 isnt gonna get u far.

once u start upgrading things on ur car, its like pringles once u pop u cant stop.

Well PFC's are discontinued. Great ECU's. But they are expensive 2nd hand and new from overseas. The wolf 3d v500 has huge capabilities and parameters. Top racing has been tuning them for ages. The ECU may have been average a few years ago, but that would have been V2 or V3 not V500.

The ecu's are Plugin Kits for Nissan R32,R33 GTST for $2,095. More people have gotten exposure to them in the last few years. So, its ur call.

your forgetting 317kw at the flywheel.

so thats ~240kw atw considering 25% drivetrain loss.

However the torque is alot more in an LS3 than your 25 thats for sure.

Were u talking to me? 250kw at the flywheel is around 250hp at the rears, with tha 25% drivetrain loss's, and the conversion from HP to kW.

I have a car that goes pretty quick

I just want it to go a bit quicker

I am sure I don't want an all out race car

just this one mod will do

I have about 180rwkw and want to go to 220-230 AND THAT WOULD BE IT !!!

I know it has to be a turbo upgrade and so an ECU upgrade (my stock ceramic is at its limit ...10-11lbs)

What can I do for $1500

will a piggy-back do if I am absolutely sure there will be NO MORE MODS

I have the exhuast, the intake and the FMIC

I know I won't need injectors for this HP (have the in tank 500HP pump tho)

I really don't want to go the dyno/tuning route if I don't have to....is this poss???....with piggy-back maybe????

But I will do it if I have to (maybe once!!!)

Why 220-230rwkw?

If all you want is a dyno readout then photoshop one.

On the other hand you can squeeze more 'go' out of your car but, sometimes there are compromises.

Tell us what it is you like about the car and exactly (as best you can) describe what you want the car to 'do' better. Set an actual goal.

This lessens the dollar waste and increases satisfaction because you have a design plan, not some half assed thought.

I like everything about how the 33 drives (my first turbo)

It is fast and I love the way it drives now

But I want that extra bit of grunt

Maybe 60-70 horses....just pull harder..a nice turbo hit and then pull hard

No burnouts or crap...

that site is a friggin good no-nonsense resource..

but in short

a) as someone already said how are you gonna know how much power you will have unless you get it dyno'ed

b) if you highflow your turbo and increase the boost then the ecu is more than likely going to make the engine run rich so you're going to need some sort of ECU piggyback or replacement combined with a dyno tune to correct this.

get the biggest drop in injectors you possibly can around 740cc with a bosch o44 and a nismo fuel reg with a good computer and u can run 15 psi into your stock turbo and push just a tad over 300rwhp alot of people will say its not possible and not safe but it has been done

Your budget is too small for a start.

You like the nature of a fairly stock car and why not.

Getting the extra power is however something that doesn't say why 60-70hp is the magic number.

Why 60-70hp? Well you could upgrade the car to give you this amount of addtional power without really impacting the way the car drives too badly.

A new 2530 sized turbo would do this and with minimal difference in lag. Assuming you also take care of the tyres and suspension setup you can stick the extra power down to the road better.

You will ideally want an upgraded ecu and fuel pump and a beefier clutch friction plate (the stock pressure plate pressure is quite fine).

That will keep everything you like about the car but, up the power and straight line speed.

You want to be making use of that on a track by the way for full benifit. :P

overkill for 300hp?

standard turbo will be out of puff before the injectors

and 15psi is to much

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?

    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
