Pretty sure a member on here put an rb30 crank into an rb26 block and then used sr20 rods? and custom pistons to end up close to 3litres in capacity. There was a lot of machining that needed to be done on the crank to get it to clear everything and a lot of custom work. Have a search through the thread should be around somewhere

Most cost effective solution here is the RB30 block and crank.

Some people will say they're a primitive setup, but thats just their way of showing ignorance.

Any other option includes a new crank, and with that comes the big dollars

Anyone thinking about going down that path should have $30,000 AUD to spend. Thats for the motor. That doesnt include a bare motor to use as a base :P

Yeah the guy who did it was an engine machinist with access to all the required equipment. Not really something for the average person to go for.

    • Just cut the bottom of the guard out. It's no longer got a big duct, to a sealed box, or a restriction. It has all the cold air from outside. Also, that cai you showed looks terrible. Bends are NOT good for go gos!

    • If the gases flowing in those two tracts had the same properties, you could maybe use such broscience. But the exhaust has a different composition, different normal density, different actual density (because of different normal density, and mostly because of the massively higher temperature), and different viscosity (again because of much higher temperature). Consequently, all of the fluid dynamics parameters that matter, that you calculate from these inputs, such as the Reynolds number, friction factors (for wall friction) and so on, are all incomparable.
    • And we shall have to presume that Canada is the same?
    • In the US almost everything is E10. It can't exceed 10% by much or fuel systems have trouble adapting. At the same time because MTBE, MMT, and TEL are all banned they need as much ethanol in it as possible to boost octane.
