Ok I'm about to order a set of these in 18x8 +25 fronts and 18x9 +30 rears according to the offset calc it will sit nicely (unless someone can advise me better) on my r33 gtst

My only problem is I'm not sure why it means when it says 5x114.3 +35mm 73 hub (what is 73 hub?)

Other than that these look damn sexy and will set me back only $1260 delivered and weigh only 10kg each which is decent

Yup just checked the details of my set it's 18x8 +25mm 73 hub and 18x9 +30 73hub all in 5x114.3 , if someone can tell me what that 73 means it will be awesome! Btw not buying from that site which is more expensive.

you should still request if they can provide hub rings just in case.

bit off topic, have you already got a quote to bring in to aus? I;m in the process of buying a set of swaybars for my car and delivery is going to cost almost as much as the swaybars themselves lol

$400AUD bloody expensive but these look nice and still cheaper than buying decent rims here, unless I bought drifteks which are a decent price, so I'm tossing up between those 2, still waiting on a reply from wheelworx!!

If you are planning on lowering your car to the hieght where the tyres sits under the guard, you will have to throw in a bit of negative cambre to make them fit.

I got 18 x 9 +32 on mine, and I have to have around -1.2 negative camber to ensure the wheels dont rub on the rear guards.

wrong... you do not HAVE to run negative camber at all, just roll your guards a lil.

adding negative camber to make rear wheels fit is just stupid from a performance perspective.... especially when you are looking at 375rwkw. skylines give themselves enough neg camber when you slam them as it is!

i run 18 x 9.5 +30 on the rears with positive camber, and they sit almost flat.

18 x 9 +30 will fit easy... although i'd go a bit wider imho... yours will sit 6mm in from mine.

for reference i run:

235/40/18's and

5/7kg coilovers

positive camber a few deg, but cant remmeber exactly

car is 10mm lower than in that pic now (320mm centre to guard)

i can just 1 finger up to the second knuckle between the guard and tyre

car also has swaybars and strutbraces front and rear

guards are rolled but not flared - paint did not crack

i do not get any scrubbing to worry about, a tiny bit of black on my finger if i run it around the guards, and only if its been driven hard

the 73 hub should be aight.... from memory mine are 76mm and i had custom hub locators made up, but most people that run professors dont bother...

Why would you run 245s on a 9.5 wheel?

Yes, with 245 tyres, it will fit under the guard. Why you would put 245 tyres on a 9.5 inch wheel puzzles me, but ey, whatever tickles your fancy.

I have 265/35/18 tyres on my wheels, hence, the reason why I had to place a bit of neg camber to make them fit under the guard.

i run 235's cause i'm one of those fitment types that you hate >_<

car makes 300rwkw, so with decent 235's and flat camber i get pretty good traction and tyres are cheap as 235 is a very common size and they dont last me long

I had Toyo R1s 235 with -0.5 camber on the rear with my R34 GTT rims, running 256 rwkw. My car was all over the place in 1st and second gear.

I now have 312 rwkw with Khumo 265s KU31s and still decent camber, and it spins even when I engage in 3rd gear.

This may be due to the Jim Berry full monty (carbonic) clutch I have. Nonetheless, even when building boost in second gear, the car spins all over the place.

probably your camber dude... as i said we are running the same power at the moment and i'm not doing tooooo badly...

what diff you running? its a locker yeah? i'm on a 1.5 way nismo (i think left that out of that pm)

on 250rwkw with the same setup i had full traction in everywhere...

shouldn't you be running positive camber in the rear to aid traction as I said before when the car squats you get 0 camber therefore more contact between tyre and road, but I guess it also depends how much positive camber you can run

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.  
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go       
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
