Thursday 23rd July, Oran Park Gp Circuit, That's This Thursday!

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

With Oran Park closing very very soon it is time to take advantage of the track while it is still there.

They run open practice days on all the 3 layouts of the track, this Thursday (23-07-09) is going be a GP layout.

What you need.

CAMS level 2 Speed licence. You can join Skylines Australia NSW and buy a licence which will last you approximately $150 total. This last for a whole year and gives you access to these days at both Oran Park and Eastern Creek and Wakefield.

A working car, with no oil leaks and loose parts etc.

A Helmet and long cotton clothing.

Fuel, some lubes and your toolbox. Food is not available at the track, so bring some or take a trip into Narrellen.

Camera (There will be some pretty cool race cars out at the track.)

Probably something else I forgot.

For More info contact Oran Park. www.oranpark.com.au

See you there,

Dan.

Ryan, I won't know till probably the start of each month, but I'll try to let everybody know ASAP.

Thanks mate, if you get a chance this week shoot me through some pics :)

I still have not heard back from BBM?

I just called and he said "Dan who?"

LOL not really mate all good thanks for that waiting for stock 2-4 weeks away.

Comon people this is a super track and will be one of the last times you can drive OP GP. I wish i was going to be there. :-(

Lol, I'm looking for pictures later tonight hopefully... see how busy I get between now and then, followed by how buggered I am as a result.

I'm going either way... OP GP Rocks out!

Mate these day's are the best kept secret... I could have lapped continuously from 9:30am to 4:30pm if the car could have handled it, only once was there the maximum of 4 cars out there. Mostly there was only 2 cars on track.

Spewin Ports... you missed a good day... probably only 8 cars there... HEAPS of track time... I was buggered by 1:30.

Not happy, took the dude 20 minutes to fix under warranty, but had to wait till he arrived :P .........8 cars all day aaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

I'm gonna start a "Late Notice Track day" thread and see if we can generate some interest around town and for the next ones. I'll post a link in here when I get it going...

Man I had some fun... Slick tyres are very awesome fun. :P

Controlling 700rwkw... Stuuuuupidly fun... and breaking for turn 1 into turn 2 at around 255km/h SCARY!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
