Problem With Speedometer

How do fix a stopped one? mine currently stopped at around 92km i took everything out to see what was wrong checked the km on the spedo the gears seems to b working. put it bak together it worked then suddenly it stopped again!

What could be wrong? an auto electrician said it could be the sensor or something on the gear box? possibly i reckon.

any one else know?

If you haven't sussed this out already then I would ask ; (1) Is both kph & total kms not functioning? If both not functioning then (2) Beg/borrow/steal substitute sensor to eliminate sensor? (3) Check wiring loom/connectors for dodgy connection.

If one part (kph or total) works & other not the problem most likely in panel meter. Bad/corroded connection, cracked cct board?

On the speedo note, how do i fix my reverse lights? They flicker on and off whilst in reverse....

Jason, I'm pretty sure that's faulty connection to the reverse sensor. Mine does it as well, but because mine used to auto, the buzzer turns on and off randomly.

I'm going to throw it on the hoist at work and have a looksie. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well I'm changing my clutch tomorrow Rhys, so i'll most probably fix it while I'm under the car

yeah i bought my r34 auto and after about a week my entire dash died (speedo went to zero tacho went to zero total kms driven blanked) this went in and out for about 4 months then seemed to fix itself.... nowadays it does it maybe once a month or so.... just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in...also when my car is in reverse it makes a nice reminder beep but every so often its becomes a horrible slow buzz sound like the battery is dyin?? any idea what may be wrong???
