My front right shock is gone so I will have to give this one a miss. Not to mention I'm gonna be falling from the sky at 200kph while the race is going :)

Fabs, check out the info from one of the other Mallala prac day threads

Many variables on oil temp mate - power output, rev range you are using (ie experience on track) sump size, oil pump, turbos (water vs oil cooled) etc. Usually a stockish GTR (with standard initial mods of exhaust, boost, intake, tune up to around 240rwkw) will be up there over 100 degrees after 8 laps or so, ambient temperature dependant. For tomorrow, with a session of a couple of sprints and a cool down in between (which will also help your tyres, and brakes cool down) you'd be pretty good. Main thing is to let it cool once it is hot for a lap or two then you can get back on it. Or you could fit an oil cooler in record time.........

There is absolutly no way I could make this event because of work commitments ffs but I think next session I will come out. Been out a whole heap of times to watch a friend of mine race, he has a white VL Turbo, got 1:22 or something very similar as his fastest lap and will be coming out shortly with more mods so I think I'll definatly come down for the next event and enter.

Goodluck guys and no one twist there cars. I was there last time watching when an evo 8? hit the wall on the straight after the hairpin just as the kink in the straight is. Slightly damp roads + full racing slicks = understeer  Never heard what happened to the driver, he was taken to hospital not moving tho

New oil and air filter are in, new pod, new plugs, topped up brake and steering fluids, checked brake pads and under body for leaks. Gotta do tyre pressures tomorrow before i head out.

What air pressures should I be running on 18's? 225/40 front 245/45 rear. Was thinking around 30-32 front 32-34 rear?

i see, last time i ran 36/38 and felt like a bit too much... that was on 16s with 205/55 tho.

will go for higher psi and let some off during the day till it feels right i guess, cheers!

time for bed and early morning then

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
