All,

I have had too many bad reports etc from Luffy, apparently the course is not consistent enough. It depends on what instructors turn up on the day and to how professional and enjoyable the day can be. So I have decided to go with the Peter Finlay, you actually have to go and do an arvo with him anyway to actually get your license, so we will stick with him.

Some info:

Proposed date 6 & 7 August, 2-day course.

16 people Max, (first in Best dressed)

Day 1 Advanced driver training

8.30 Cams Lecture

8.20 Basic skills

10.00 Practical on cct

10.45 Braking, test theory practice

12.30 Lunch

1.00pm Brake in corner

2.00 Evade and recover

3.00 Cornering, line etc

3.30 Practical cornering

4.30 Close

Day 2 High speed track work.

8.15 Scruitneering

8.30 Cct walk

9.30 Track time

10.30 High speed braking

12.00 Lunch

12.45 Cornering

3.00 Ckeck lap with instructor

3.30 Starts

3.45 Qualify under stop watch

4.00 Cams simulated Rade 5 laps

4.30 Close and qualification granted.

At the end of the days you RX your C3 racing and R3/R5 Rally license.

Cost $570 for both days, for 16 people, if we get less down to 12 people it will be $605.

Peter said If I organize it and get 16 people there I can drive for free, so if we do get 16 people there, I will pass my free days onto every one and hence the $570 cost.

What do we do from here? Well I would like to see the post for the first 15 people who are interested. Second I want to collect a $100 deposit to go to Peter Finlay to book the day. This will be non-refundable unless you can find someone from the forum to take your place.

I made sure the date was far enough into the future so money could be arranged and also Peter and Oran Park availability came into play as well.

If anyone has any objections or suggestions please let me know in a PM. If we can get 16 people who can commit it should be a dam fine 2 days.

Thanks

    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
