Item: '91 VR4 Mitsubishi Galant Evo III 2.0L turbo

Location: Killara, Sydney

Item Condition: Good

Reason for Selling: I am a student and can't afford a turbo car anymore.

Price and Payment Conditions: Chasing $5500 ono, won't part it out.

Extra Info: Only 200, 000 on the clock with a new timing belt, which is nothing for a '91. Car has undergone a full Evo III turbo conversion including cyclone intake. Has a big td05 turbo, Evo III intake, larger intercooler, large radiator, full 3" inch exhaust from the turbo back, boost gauge, turbo timer, brand new timing belt, new heavy ralliart clutch (5000km ago from Meek), big aftermarket cams (i don't know what brand but they are big). Is sitting on Koni Yellows with King Springs -> It's not a serious combination but combined with the 50/50 awd handles quite well without breaking your spine over every pothole.

I have never owned a car as quick as this. Have a Dyno sheet from previous owner with 178kwatw which was done on a loose timing belt that has since been replaced with a strong and tight aftermarket one. Mechanic reckons she is pulling almost 200kwatw. I never go really hard in her but the few times i have she has ripped pretty much everything at the lights, eats stock STI's for breakfast. Definately the best car you can get performance-wise for the price imho.

Inside is really comfy. No rips in the dash (which seem to be in most vr4's) or the seats. I am 6'4" and i fit fine in both the back and the front

Outside there are a couple of scratches (it's a '91, what do you expect) but no rust that i can see anywhere on the car.

Has been serviced regularly and got the clutch replaced by the guys over at Meek Automotive. Got all receipts and whatever.

Why so cheap? Head gasket is gonna need replacing. Other than that the car is in tip top shape (as far as i am aware).

I wish i could keep her but i am poor (damn the student life).

Ahh the old Galant is up for sale again. This car does go quite well and actually handles good too. Once the head gasket issues are fixed it would be a pretty good buy.

unofrtunatly bruv vr4's go for peanuts now days.

Too true .......... they're almost 20 years old now which may have something to do with it I'd say .... but having owned two of them previously, if you can find a good one (which is hard) they are good.

I don't see an issue though. Engine is fine (except for head). No rust to speak of which you would think would be the biggest older car issue. She runs in the 5 seconds 0-100, what more could anyone want for a bargain price? :)

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
    • FYI: Racebox RE7R Custom Tunes Released!   https://goracebox.com/.../2017-infiniti-q50-q60-re7r-tcm...   FOR GEN 2 (21+) VEHICLES, PLEASE SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM See more   But whomever tuned your car is the tuner you should go back to, AMS, Sonictune or BT Tune....
