what will u do to "P" plater if u met them at the red light?

i met 3 "P" plater at anzac highway yesterday, 2 silvia (1 tubro, 1 NA) and a 80's commie wagon doing around 80-100 and pass me. Then i met them again at anzac highway/greenhill rd red light. The tubro ca18 silvia was stock(everything) and the NA was loaded with 4 people and they try to drag me.

my GF was sitting next to me and told me don't mud around with those 16 yr old idiot, drag them is like encourge them even u beat them.:)

but when u look at the face of the kid, u really want to give them a lesson!!!!!!:burnout:

i didn't drag them at the end as GF start look "unhappy" when i told her i want to drag the silvia. And saw those "P" ran away like they win....:)

man its good your gf is a calming influence... mine just encourages me... she will look across see the p platers in their shitboxes turn to me and go "you're going to smoke these guys aren't you?"

I most enjoy letting them get a little head start like they have gotten you off the mark then just line them up in second and see ya!

Most of the time if the're wanting to drag they don't actually think the're going to win they just want to see your car in action... when I was on my p's driving my shitbox I would try and make people race me just so as I could check out the performance of their car... I wasn't trying to beat them:D

by the way you don't have to race at twice the speed limit to have a little fun:p

It's strange like that I never get people in good sports cars trying to go me... It's always the ones I can easily take... good for the self esteem though:D

How'd that Lotus go... usually old guys driving those sorts of cars who just like to look good... can never get guys in 911's to go me... they probably know they'd cane me and can't be bothered...:)

Was two younger Asian guys in the car, he took off with a bit of go but as soon as I heard the engine scream I dumped it. To be honest I was very surprised when I saw him in the mirrors. I followed him for a spin up Mt. Dany tourist rd and he was giving it hell but just couldn't pull away. Very nice and quick car though for it's KW's but then again they weigh nothing. This of course was all totally under the speed limit and was not any anyway dangerous to other drivers or myself as I do not condone that kind of activity.

the best of my gf is - she won't stop me when i can drag NICE sport car.

i have drag with a 360 F1 ;) but within second i lost... i drag a current model 911 2 months ago, the best drag i even had. SO even up to 170, about 1/2 - 1 car behind him :)

I kind of got scared away from drag racing not so long ago as I was driving to pick my other half up from work when this middle aged bloke in his HZ 4 speed V8 that was mildly worked up was sitting right up my arse for no reason, to the point where I couldn't see his wiper blades.

So I decided to go the way he was going.

Out of the corner I nailed it and pulled away nicely with the arse end swinging around through second a little.

Then at the next set of lights he looked over reving it allowing it to come to an idle where you could hear it cam over.

Lights went green by the end of second (100km/h) I backed off as I had already put a few car lengths on him. Cruising along in 5th I saw him still nailing it as he clicked fourth gear next to me and proceded towards a sweeping corner. His car started to pick up the arse end as if it was about to go sideways when he must of backed off slightly to bring it back undercontrol.

As I came around the corner and could see him again he was off in to the distance so I guess he must of been doing at least 160km/h. Thats when I saw a Toyota 4wd ute pull out in front of him with a trailer on. He swerved missing the car, his rear wheel upon swerving back in to the lane clipped the medium strip that sent him in to a massive 3 lane slide which felt like it lasted forever. He came to rest in to a tree in the medium strip the the left hand side of his car totally stuffed. He wasn't happy at all.. getting out of the car and kicking it as I drove past.. lol. I measured the slide later that night. It was a 150m slide. Damn long.

What would have happened if that dick hit the 4wd? I could have been screwed like that bloke that was dragging his mate, backed off, his mate didn't and t-boned a family man doing 130kays and killed him. The bloke who backed off got screwed. If only people had common sense not to keep nailing it the cops would probably let us give it a squirt and not care.

Best run I've had is against a red Lamborghini Diablo it had VT or somthing as the number plate.

I took off from the set of lights with it slight stalled up short shifted in to second as he didn't run and changed gears really early, I then thought fark it and pinned second. Towards the end of second I heard him start to wind out the gear when all of a sudden he shot past me at an unbelievable pace. To make it worse the thing was so loud it honestly really hurt my ear.

I've only had 1 car pass me quicker and that was a redish R33 in town. That thing really hammered but didn't sound as nice as the diablo

Hi Joel. From the sounds of it, your car must really have some power. I mean, going up against a four speed v8 (what's HZ?) and giving it a few good car lengths is really something for our 2 little bangers. BTW, I'm assuming that you have quite a bit of rwkw's to your car?

Btw, gotta agree with you that those diablos sound really nice. i'm assuming that the sound you speak of is something like those of f1 cars?

Cheers.

There is no such thing as a BAD drag IMHO, as long as you cane them then slow down at 65km (as cell correctly pointed out). As long as you have a heap of car lengths on them by then, you can be sure you would have fully hammered them over a 1/4 mile :D

Some of my best drags have been against a certain grey R32GTR muahahahahaha :Owned: .... oh and racing Rob (with the supercharged Monaro) at AIR and nailing his 300rwkw ass (and getting it on video)

Nitrate,

nar its still pretty stock.. Last dyno made 164rwkw on 15psi or 152rwkw on 12.5psi which is what it is at now as boost drops to 12.5psi. In the mid up to around 5500rpm it runs 17psi.

Those old HZ's etc are pretty gutless. The V8's stock from memory only made around 120kw at the flywheel so my guess is a mild cam exhaust might bump it up to around 160kw which is what the R32's are stock.

Then again I have hammered Jaffa's VX GenIII when it was a stock (exhaust only) a few times.

Hehe :D Very interesting stuff indeed.

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
