Thanks man for the advice I just hope that hasn't happened to me!!!!

Im a bit worried now

Please let me know were to get the rubber, coz nissan wanted to charge me $165 just for the piece I need and I think just for a piece of rubber thats rediculous!

take it easy

Mark

This is probably a stupid question but have u gone to some windscreen places?

Like i said i'n not worried about mine till i get my GTR guards from JAPAN hehe

but yeah its definately worth gettin done if your not planning n e thing like me...

If you don't live in a plce where it rains much u havn't got n e thing to worry

cos we r heading into summer and all but yeah just get it done anyway cos

when u wash your car water gets in then and if ya like me i wash it at least

twice a week

Nah man I have only called Nissan Spare Parts thinkin its only a piece of rubber!

Although a mate that does windscreens told me its a set moulding and I have to get it new or from the wreckers.

Im in Melbourne so we have all 4 seasons every day! and I do wash my car quite frequently although the split I dont think is exposing the body its where the top corner of the windscreen is.

:D

bro just get a rubber from another make car, it doesnt have to be original r32 rubber. I got a rubber of a mirage I think it was and no problems just doesnt look perfect as it is thicker and stankds out a bit.

I have same problem but with bottom of front windscreen external rubber moulding. Just below windscreen wipers. All inquiries to dealers meet with blank or have to get it from Japan. Did you do any good with your rear rubber moulding? or wil I have to improvise..

I got mine replaced with a VL commodore rear windscreen rubber. A mobile guy did it for me; $100 and it looks perfect.

What car was it for? R32, R33 or R34?

do the corners match up? if not, has it poped out from there at all?

I'm interested in how to fix this as well. They have pulled all the windows out of my r32, and I need new seals all round. They were all split at the rear and some rust has started...

You would think that there would be an aftermarket rubber seal for these...

And they smashed the front windscreen so I need a new front windscreen with inbuilt aerial preferably :-(

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
