Guys,

I'm really lost here... , Trying to organise an exhaust system for the GTR R33, current I've got form the cat back & want to do the front section..

Some places call it "front pipe", then some say "do you mean the engine pipe?", & on top of that do you mean "from the turbos".. :bonk:

I have attached some pics, from UAS site.. But all I want is to replace the front section, The dumps I'm not worried about at this stage coz I'm running stock turbos. But a place in Victoria "mufflers Now" apparantley have a 3in system from the turbos back including the dumps, but this system has no flex joint.

Please if someone can tell me what the name is or what I should be asking for I would really appreciate it.

UAS Site calls these Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 Front Pipes

UAS Site calls these ones UAS Stainless 2 1/2 Inch Engine Pipes with Flex Pipe

Thanks.

The exhaust is split into three pieces. Dump pipes come off the turbo's and are about 30cm long (pretty short). They connect to the Front pipes (like the ones in your pics) and go from the Dump pipes to the Cat. Then the rest of the exhaust is the cat back - like what you have at the moment.

Adding just the front pipes will give you an increase in power, but if you want more power, go the Dump pipes and the Front pipes.

Thanks Jay,

I can get a 3" system which includes the dumps & front pipe from "mufflers now" but worried coz this system has no flex joint, & also told that 3" is too big & would drone alot. Where as most front pipe systems seem to be dual 2.5" into a single 3". I'm not worried about the droning that much but thought the benefits of the dump included in this system would help alot more.

i was also lookin at a flexi joint front pipe when i was doin mine, but the guy that i ended up goin to said that u only really need the flexi joint if ur engine is mounted across the engine bay( as in not stright the middle but 90deg from wheel to wheel if u get what i mean) and if ur engines pullin huge hp due to the way the engine twists under load. then again i only drive a gtst and not a gtr:D:D maybe i should shut up now..lolz

Sorted it all out :) , That's what happens when you end up following a referral from SAU, & 3 in 10 refferals are half wits. The last shop as I stated in my thread above, was talking about a GT-T pipes, until I explained for the tenth time, it's a GTR Sunshine, you know the twin turbo... :Bang: "ooooh" he says, "we do skylines all the time, we're the biggest in the country, the system I was talking about is for the Single turbo." His next question was "what's your budget we can do you front pipes for around $1000." when I ummmed & rrrrrd "with dis-belief", he suspected my budget was not that much, so he says, "some people only earn $400pw & some earn a couple of grand, if your budget is tight we can do you a system for around $400~ but it will be a cheap system"... I replied "mate, I wish I earned $400pw, I'm on the dole?? how much can you a system for now". Then I just hung up.

Thanks heeps guys. :D

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
