1996 Gts-t R33 Series Ii (regretful Sale) How To Sell Safely

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have owned a 1996 GTS-T R33 Series II for a few years now, it has been a weekend vehicle only and still has very low k's around 78,500.

I have decided to move house as I am heading down to the police Academy next year so I am regretfully selling the vehicle :D( (painful sale) I have advertised the car at $12,950 which is negotiable. It has only ever been driven on weekends and always garaged and serviced and I have treated it like my wife.

Do you think my price is reasonable for this Model? I see the same Models going anywhere from $12,000 to $20,000 on the net etc. which is confusing... I was wondering if my price is reasonable for this sale? Hopefully after my relocation and settling in I can look to owning a R33 again but for now the money is more important. LOVE to know and appreciate your thoughts comments from educated Skyline lovers. This is my advertisment for the car including some pictures!

I would love and appreciate your thoughts!! of course if anyone is interested in purchasing themselves please do call.

Many Thanks,

Joel

looks in good nic. but it is a buyers market atm and they are selling for 10k everywhere. also not much rego.

Also your seats appear to be S1 not S2 but S2 kit?

May have to wait for someone after a non molested car to start from scratch.

cheers Rich

I sold mine back in april for 12k.

had 254rwkw - was immaculate and mildly modifed.

Yours is very clean thats for sure!!!!

If your happy to wait - you may find someone looking for a near stock one, but you may be waiting a while, if you need the money,

People will low ball you at around 8 - 9k for it.

Sucks I know ;)

But thats the market - when I bought mine 4 years ago, there werent that many around as today, and mine was 100% stock, I paid 15k back then!!

i paid $15k 3 years ago for a completely stock series 2....sold it 12 mths later with a little over 200rwkw for $14k and was very lucky to get that.....i picked up a series 2 with fmic/exhaust/boost/avcr/clutch 12 mths ago for $8,500 (no rego and shit bonnet/front bar)...

crazy market...if your willing to wait you might get $12k.....but if your in a hurry $10k is more realistic unfortunately....

i think someone swapped seats over door trims seem s2

I actually think that 'you are on the money'!

Why? 2 reasons...

i) a discerning buyer will love to get his hands on a car that hasn't had a hard life and...

ii) mathematics tells me that this car is only ticking over 6000Km/yr and that's low.

You've got till November to sell at this price; maybe mid December, because car sales go down till the end of January after then.

my 2c

Guys thanks a million for all the tips!! I have lowered it to $12,399 and will sit on it for a bit however I need a quick sale to move which is unfortuante, I was thinking of accepting an offer of $11,990 at lowest because of such low k's and the condition of the car is excellent. Like you say it's a buyers market atm which makes it tough!!

Appreciate the assistance lads.

Cheers,

Joel

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
