Cubes
erm... When I said my brakes don't fade.. .I lied.. I just took the car for a spin to try and get them to fade. Initially from a 180km/h brake I can still lock the brakes on demand at what ever speed. be it 40km/h or 120km/h. The second stop at first I can lock the brakes if need be but as the speed decreases to around 80km/h I have to stomp on the brakes pretty hard to lock them. The third stop will pull up fine from 180km/h however i cannot lock them at all. The fourth stop i can start to feel a bit of fade as the car feels like it is sliding (typical brake fade) Fifth stop... pulled up ok but not really that quick. I pushed as much as I could within reason however there was no way I would stop quick a corner was approaching. I happened to look down at my side mirror and I notice a little bit of smoke from the pads/disk area from the rear wheels as were the front wheels. Very smelly. The brakes do not fade as quickly as conventional commodore brakes. With the old VS one second you had brakes the next second you had nothing. At least I get a bit of warning. I will definately be upgrading disks and pads. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/29042-32-disks/page/2/#findComment-617819 Share on other sites
makaveli
i think i'll just do the front disks with slotted 909's, change the pads and that should be it. Does that sound any good? thanks Mark Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/29042-32-disks/page/2/#findComment-622413 Share on other sites
GTRman1992
They do most of the work, should be ok as long as back ones are ok. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/29042-32-disks/page/2/#findComment-622830 Share on other sites
makaveli
yeah the back ones have plenty of meat left on them. I'll just get them machined if they need it and change the front disks. take it easy Mark Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/29042-32-disks/page/2/#findComment-623464 Share on other sites
