don't get me wrong Dave, I by no means was pointing a finger at you.......in actual fact, it sounds like our mob weren't the main contributors anyway......I just hope that when Sapol read this, they actually realize this fact.

Dave I don't quite get your last post......you're not selling your 200 as a result of tonights efforts are you?

EDIT: Lol, Correct James, wish I had put it that way now......if I ever need an advocate or personal speaker, I'll make sure I get your resume 1st ;)

im selling it because of a few things. ill still have it another month or two before i advertise it (ive been thinking about advertising it when ajd rolls around) as planned, but yeah.

tonight just added another reason to sell it. i mean, i love the car scene in adelaide, but with more and more people showing less and less respect for it, it hardly seems worth it.

wow more CRAP on NS.com about heaps killa skids and crashes and drifts... omg f**king grow up people your making it worse for yourselves! Do you enjoy blaming other people like SAPOL for taking your shit off the road or fining you for being a douche bag? Grow up.. Im over this shit.

Scandy keep your car dude, make sure you are doing the right thing in the end and dont get involved with the crap ;) Dont sell

Thats cool Pete, was just trying to put it in a less direct contex and more covering as a whole :D

Hence why i spoke to the officer that was there, no attitude, no excuses and straight up front

Disappointing Dave. I think you're writing off the 'car scene' prematurely.

Organised cruises with mass drama and bullshit isn't the real car scene. It's good for a laugh to read the fall out, but quick boosts with a few mates is where its at.

When my car's back next year we'll hit up a few more runs and you won't wanna sell your shit man.

lol, i know what you mean dude. and that part is where most of my love of the scene is, but this has been coming a while. and if the mass public cruises keep going the way they are, its gonna get harder and harder to enjoy the quick and quiet drives with your mates.

believe me, its not a decision ive rushed into, just ask luke, lol, ive been thinking about it for ages.

not quite sure i agree with JMW or Sled there... even if no one from SAU attended the event, we would still be painted with the same brush! we'd still get our share of the attention just because of the cars we chose to drive.

i dont see there is anything wrong with car enthusiast getting together and raising money for charity?? so people get together and go for a drive and help those in need, how is that different from people cooking pancakes or holding tea parties or growing a mustache or the bikies charity cruise?? its when people decide to make up their own rules that things go pear shapped for the community

I've been on plenty of cruises and it seems the problem is some people take it as "we're on a cruise so we can do anything" mixed in with some fragile egos and its a recipie for what happened today, i dont think we can ever say that our problem will be fixed by stoping these get togethers but i think stronger self policing is a step in the right direction.

Fair enough man. All I know is I'm sure as hell not gonna stop enjoying my car cause some other dudes in similar cars drive like wankers.

Sleeper spec for the win.

don't try and justify that shit to me Luke.....this has really pissed me off.

No amount of $$ raised by this cruise tonight can justify the long term effect it will have on your future driving freedom.....in the coming months, make sure you have eyes in the back of your head whilst driving your R where cops will be present cause they'll be given a new set of instructions during briefing Monday morning....and I don't need to tell you what they will entail.

you swim in a sespool, you come out smelling the same......sorry but the truth hurts sometimes Dave

Not trying to justify anything Pete, just trying to show atleast there was something good that came out of last nights events. Totally agree with what you have said mate, you'll have no argument from me

Sounds like it was a top cruise, what surprises me having read all this is that some are surprised sapol wanted to get involved at some point. I'm no angel but I've seen the way many many import drivers drive their cars and there's no way known I'd go to one of those cruises and get myself associated with knobheads that are going to make the whole group look bad, regardless of whether you were doing the right thing!

Just read through the NS.com thread about the cruise, majority make it sound like a totally different cruise, one member even saying "well behaved" :)

oh well, definitely not attending in the future, quite happy to rock it at the meet point and contribute to what the night was actually about. A vision that is now beyond lost in translation unfortunately.

I went to the start up and made my donation and you could tell straight away what it was going to be like so I didnt go on the actual cruise.

To be honest ive lost a bit of respect for mark to know whats going on with these cruises and nothing be done only to be making it harder for the rest of us later on. I never thought I would say this, but I agree with James, sled and the others that wont be doing a cruise again.

Are you serious?! How can you make Mark purely responsible for everyone's behaviour/driving ability?! Regardless of the cruise or who's organized it... you'll always get the odd car ripping a skid or something. Ns.com cruises have always been entertaining over the years.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
