haha yeah

if an r34 gets a cheaper insurance an r33

whys that ?

motor is stock only have a body kit put on surely that wouldnt add 2000 to the insurance price ?

or can something so small have that effect ?

Your best bet is to jump onto Just Car and have a go with the quotes.

Also, did you loose your license or made a accident/theft claim before?

the r34 might have better security, or a lower stolen ratio so its cheaper

The R34 is cheaper than R33, because the R34 is NA and auto lol.

I just went onto CGU, as I expected, there was no skyline on the list?....

I beleive Just car will have one of the best rates avaliable to you as you are a young driver.

Example.

My mate(18yr old) drives a 1990 integra auto(2 door 1.8L? inline 4), few mods like body kit, exhaust etc, nothing major.

He pays close to $1000 a year with some other insurance company for third party fire & theft.

I(18yr old) drive a 1998 R34 N/A auto(i know...shhh :P )(2 door 2.5L inline 6), stock as a rock.

i pay $506 per year for third party fire and theft with Just Car.

Sure his has few mods, but mine has an inline 6 2.5L and is called a Skyline...so i figured that would equal out with his mods. if this is the case, im paying half of what he is.

My point is, Just Car are there to cover p platers/young drivers and drivers of imports, and as a young driver, i beleive its one of, if not the best option.

why is everyone forgetting shannons?

ive been with shannons since i was 19... had my s15 insured with them- it got stolen too, so i made a claim.

then at 21 i had my r33 gts-t insured with them, still insured with them

great rates, cheap excesses!

Because they don't insure anyone under 25? :(

Unless you know someone that works there or something.

And aren't they linked with Just Car as well? like with AAMI?

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
