Hey guyz, im heading down to calder park this friday for the drags and as i dont have to much knowledge on drag racing, i would like some help from the experts out here, so if anyone has any suggestions for me ur free to throw it in...

One more thing i wanted to ask was, As i know that rear grip of the tyres is very important so i was thinking of putting my Ku36's from the front to the rear and putting my rear rims and tyres on the front. The only thing is that my kumho's are 235's and my rears are 245's, Would it be alrite if i put my kumho's which are the 235 at the rear and have a 245 in the front, just for the drags..

Im only doing this bcuz my kumho's are new and my rears are shit!!

Thnx..

Depends if they have the same offset and if the front ones scrub. Personally i'd just leave them as they are. Maybe drop the tyre pressure down to about 20psi if you really feel the need.

Most important thing is to not get too excited and drop the clutch. I find the best thing to remember is to take a full second to release the clutch otherwise you're just going to wheelspin hard everytime. If you drop the clutch quickly and spin the wheels you've wasted that run.

Also the reaction time isn't the end goal so the time only starts counting once you break the lights. (Hence big turbo auto's etc waiting for ages to get on boost off the line).

It's all in good fun so don't take it too seriously if you don't run great times remember yoú will be 5 times better every time u go.

hey mate, ill be there 2moro also, not racing though, ill be racing december 4.

yeh just keep the rears where they are, drop the pressure to 20psi and ride the clutch a little bit on take off (as jet25l has already stated)

1 tip for the warm up burnout, it doesnt have to be big as radial tyres DO NOT benefit from doing a big burnout what so ever, just do a small one to get rid of the water on the tyres.

i snapped a driveshaft last time i snapped secong gear in the burnout lol.

go out there, have fun and good luck mate :D

ohhh also what suspension and how much power?

Well i guess ill just stick with these tyres then... And im running 175kw on 12psi [ The only reason i wanted to change the tyres is becuase when i tried a launch with the normal tyres that im running at the rear it kept spinning all the way in 1st gear till i shifted to 2nd]

I have coilovers and i dont think they are adjustable, but they are pretty stiff...

my advice is change nothing, especially front/rear tyres

just go and try and few things out, dont drastically alter the setup of your car, vs how it is setup on the street

if anything drop the rear pressure to around 20psi and just see how you go

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
