unsure on the specifics of the fuel pump, but i know its a walbro fuel pump. i'll try find out more info when i ring previous owner later on today.

where is "The speed lab" located as im in norther adelaide. but will travel if its worth it.

bloody hell all this turbo jap car business is confusing.

ive got a hypergear rebuild in my car, and i cant fault it.

alternatively, japanese import spares have a 2530 to suit an rb for under $1000.

they also have nismo 550's for $240 each if you cant be f**ked waiting. but its easy to find injectors for much cheaper.

jeff (speed lab) tends to work out of turbotune on the other side of town. and actually, this turbo jap car stuff is pretty straight forward. dont have to pull half your engine (and half your car) apart to change a cam. ;)

if its a "500HP" pump, it will be fine.

Last I heard Jeff was working out of a place at Pooraka.

Takes just under 2 weeks from the time I recieve money, but I can supply 555cc injectors for an rb20 for under $400 (set of 6)

Am expecting injectors for Dark.Sky and MattyR31 this week and injectors for DSTROY next week.

on the topic of injectors, i noted a certain united in the pt adelaide area advertising E85? if its gonna hit hard this time i may consider changing over.

+1 If it becomes more widely availible I might look into it.

fair enough.

bah, stupid rb's and their crappy ceramic turbines. get a highflow, then smash 16 psi. easy. :(

My old 32 ran 16psi day in day out on an R33 turbo and didn't miss a beat, and you saw how harshly that was treated Dave

lol. that thing was flogged hard. but it was also 2 steps away from being a missile car. fairly sure this guy wants his to stay in one piece!

That may be so, but my main point was the R33 turbos can handle a bit of abuse :P

If it was my car I'd go front mount, decent exhaust (turbo back 3inch with no cat), fuel pump and run boost around 14psi. Turbo should handle it, injectors might be pushed but everything should hold together and make near enough to 200 @ the wheels and would still be responsive. Would be good fun for a bit till you get used to it and want more :(

R33 turbos on a RB20 arent put under the same heat and load hence why you can boost it to 16psi

i ran my RB25det to 14psi for about a year before she went bang and didn't properly go bang just made a little noise i recon better oil may have not done that too AFR's wont stop your ceramic wheel going pop

possibly best route

Garret 3076

Injectors 555 if you not going to entertain the idea of E85 or else 700+

PowerFc if your real keen or else speak to Shaun @ boostworx for a VG30dett ECU conversion

get rid of the walbo and get a bosch

and

Z32 AFM

tune to 18psi and let the fun begin can go higher if detonation is low tunner will know how much you can go

possibly best route

Garret 3076 - Got

Injectors 555 if you not going to entertain the idea of E85 or else 700+ - Got Nismo 740cc

PowerFc if your real keen or else speak to Shaun @ boostworx for a VG30dett ECU conversion - Using a Haltech

get rid of the walbo and get a bosch - Using a Bosch 040

and

Z32 AFM - Dont have as I am using MAP sensor

That is a very good combo, i am running 15psi and making 265rwkw. If you are wanting to retain more of your response i would suggest a hiflow or the 0.6 a/r for the GT3076 turbo. I am running a 0.82 a/r, a little bit laggy, but boost hits nice and hard :P.

Maybe also replace coilpacks with either Yellowjacket/Splitfire/Superspark, depends on what condition your stock ones are in.

    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.
    • roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. Ive been going down there on odd days after work to get it sorted.

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
