does your car have a seperate ignitor pack? (square thing at the back of the rocker cover). if it does then i would be looking at that or the plugs, since you haven't said how old the plugs are.

might be the ignitor yeah... does it happen when the car it hot?

hey man, that might not be your problem. i had the same thing happen after buying new coil packs, ended up being the ignition timinig, and boost leaks. also check that your coil pack loom is earthed properly...

yeh, might just be a vacuum or boost leak somewhere

Are the HT (high tension) leads still flexible & soft - or have they gone stiff through age/heat/low humidity?

They should be supple.

hmmm wonder if it could be the computer? its only stock
