i finally got hold of the cop tonight.. he tells me she was ok.. broken collar bone tho.. shes from mornington and remembers nothing of the accident but the scary thing now is.. on the night there was these 2 guys that said they saw the whole thing and i wasnt doing anything wrong.. now the cop says because i say i wasnt doing anything wrong.. she doesnt remember anything so it all comes down to what "THE" witness says.. i go wasnt there 2 witnesses there and hes like nar there was only 1.. so now iv lost the 2 guys that said i was in the right and theres some new witness

OK, some advice, call the cop shop that is dealing with it and ask to speak to the sgt. Explain the situation to them, they might be able to get to the bottom of it for you, tell them you need details for insurance perposes. Call TAC and find out if she has made a claim, because she would have needed all your details (and your cars details to do so). Then thirdly speak to your insurance company and see what they suggest. DON'T run straight to a laywer, that can look (if it gets that far and u already have representation) that you are guilty of something.

Mate your story is a shocker cant believe it man, I suppose this I what you call a genuine accident, it is a blessing you had ppl at the scene that can vouch for you because from I what ive been told its usually the driver that takes brunt of the blame . I can truly understand you not sleeping I have to admit I wouldn’t be able to do much at all after that. I hope that it works out for you and this lady , in all fairness pedestrians have the responsibility to look and take in consideration conditions of weather and driver stopping time.

best of luck with it

i wish it was that easy.. for starters because the cops havnt made a decision to who’s fault it was i cant ask for my car to be fixed.. 2nd she wouldnt have made a claim with the tac because shes saying she doesnt remember what happened and is hoping that the cops dick me for something and get her off.. 3rd i dont have insurance and even if I did they wouldnt do much for me anyway cos i would have only had 3rd party if i did have any as a 22yo driver in a import gets stupidly priced insurance

Okay, regarding insurance, heres what to do.

There is a repairer in Fairfield who will do this sort of shit for you, ie, have their lawyers get the money from the girl for the damage.

They will make the claim through themselves, quote the work and then basically sue the woman for the cash. All you have to do is take the car to them and talk to them about it. I can't give you there name here, but they are a prestige auto body repairer in fairfield. They do extremely good work and will handle everything.

Also, if she goes to sue you, make sure you counter sue.

All this said, again get legal advice first so you know your rights.

BASS OUT

HMMMM. Can't say I agreee although I do see the point. Fact is though with no insurance, not knowing what THE witness will say, indecisive coppers and a chick who remembers nothing - can legal advice really be such a bad idea?

Just coz u get some advice now doesn't mean ur guilty nor do u need to tell them that u've sought advice.

Bummer havin no car. You know how to get in touch if you need anything though.

smoke signals? nar im still driving it around.. got a new windscreen and gaff’d the bar on and same with the mirror… its amazing what some gaff can do…

hey your car is the same colour :P wanna swap mirrors? While we’re at it can I borrow your sun roof too? :)

dean has 2nd hand head lights for $300 each and mirror's for $150 each rekon i could find cheaper? 300 for 2nd hand light sounds like a bit much ill still have to get them both cleaned up too

That's the going rate i'm afraid, you may find cheaper, if you get lucky. I reckon he may give you both for $400 if you were reffered by a forum member? give it a go :D

i got my mate to do the 1st phone call while i was at work and he's friends with him and also bought a tt supra off him..

anyways i bought them both.. headlight looks brand new and puts my other 1 to shame so i havnt put it in yet cos that headlight exchange place isnt open again till the 5th..

thanx for you help anyways now i just need another copy of your front bar and im close to back on the road again.. and for these cops to say it was her fault so i can see some money

There was only a crack in the bar wasn't there? that can be repaired fairly cheaply i would think ;) looking at the damage mabe the bumper support was not cut down and re fitted?

When you repair or replace be sure to fit the bumper support and the end plates to give it more strength, I spent an hour with a bloody hacksaw in the drive way to make sure the bumper had some metal behind it. Watch out for the bumper ripping tow truck drivers!! they quite often go "oh well it's broken any way" and do more damage!!

yeah i spoke to pulse tonight and they said they saw how much you cut off yours and they'll try and help me with mine when i get a new bar..

also that tow truck driver was shifty.. when it was going on and i was there watching he got the wooden planks out and made sure it would go up nice.. and i saw it go up didnt come close to touching anything.. he must of just rolled it straight off the back when no1 was around

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
