Hello again everyone!

The rubber sealing around the windscreens of my r33 are really old and brittle, particularly the one at the back. It had bunched up slightly at one area and left small gaps at others so I'm looking to get it replaced.

I rang O'briens yesterday and they said it would be $189 per window and that they may even break the windscreen jst taking it out so it could even cost more...

I ran Instant Windscreens today and was told they were closed, despite their website saying 24hour service 7 days a week!

Am I doomed to pay that crazy amount? Or is there someone else I should call?

If it costs THAT much for the little rubber seal, I would rather use the money to save up and go AM performance to change my dump and front pipes like Talbo was tellin me yesterday :)

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I had the same problem in my R33. But i bought my car with it broken. The rear seal was broken in two parts. While i had my car at the panel beater getting a few touch ups i asked the bloke if he could organise someone to come out and fix it. I got it done and it cost me $120. I spoke to the bloke that changed it over he said it wasnt even a genuine Nissan seal and it costs so much to repair because he has to take the whole rear window out to place the new one around.

Yes its for looks but i changed mine over because i had leak problems in my boot which were patly caused by the broken seal because the water would accumilate in broke spot and release it straight into my boot area.

Let me know how you go

i resprayed my mates 33 and his was the same i cut out the seal left the window in,windscreen mob put in a universal one in for $40 looked perfect even came out to him.

which place did that? that exactly what I want

i think instant windscreens, but all should be able to do it. you may have cut it out yourself while being careful not to scratch paint for me did'int matter

some of its already out anyways!

I think the O'brien guy misunderstood what I needed.

Thanks champ, Ill go visit one of these places tomorrow.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
