well the average difference between SAFC and a standalone with THOSE specific mods are around 15rwkw. anything above 200-210kw and you just cant do anything with the safc.

thing is, when you've randomly $500 you want to throw it at your car and get power the QUICKEST way possible then things like safc's and emanage look really attractive and are pretty much the ONLY option. i also did it your way, i started with an safc, then went to a chipped ecu, then went an emanage, then finally got a vipec, ive spend around $5000 just on ecu's and tunes whereas if i bought a standalone to begin with it would've been less than half that.

but this is the cycle we all go through! if someone told you to just shut up and buy a standalone for $1600 instead of going for a $200 safc, would you have listened? or would you have weighed out the $$ you have vs. the time it would take to get the $$ for the standalone and just said, "fuckit" like most do.

depends on the dyno you should make an extra 30hp

with exhaust cooler and 11psi on std ecu i made 170kw (230hp) then i installed the safcII and made 193kw (260hp)

before i got it tuned i asked the guy how much it should make and he said 30hp coz he tuned a gtst the other day and it made that, so my guess is 30hp!!

just raise the boost as high as u can without hitting boost cut which i can almost guarentee wont be any more then 12psi

mine was tuned to 11psi and didnt hit boost cut on the dyno but when i drove the car on a cold night or when the engine was still cold it would sometimes hit boost cut

oh yeh and i had NO increase in fuel economy, i was kinda expecting a differnence, still get 400km to 50L

good luck with it dont blow ya car up :)

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
