yep, half the reason i read these forums is to rag on the 'has to be cheap' crew

you can't have your cake and eat it, these HSD coilovers and what not people are talking about are shit and will not give you any ride comfort. why you're so worried about ride comfort in a sports car i don't understand. but steer clear of those cheap chinese/korean copies.

this is why i read this forum there is so many ridiculous comments, what suspension are you running? as for "cheap ass crew" thats just fkn stupid not everyone needs to spend 2-3k + on street suspension and if you want to be technical thats still cheap sh!t compared to the real deal of 10K plus, which im sure your awesome r32 has? :P

hsd has given me no problems what so ever it is comfortable, not bouncy and has full adjustability that i need for my car.

i just see so many of these thread 'i want the biz, but only have $100 to spend'

if you don't have money to spend then a skyline isn't the car for you

sorry for ragging on the hsd/g4/D2 crew, guess i like to do things properly

Well "5ky" you have done a good job at again starting up the debate on which coilovers/suspension to use. Im sure you weren't expecting so many replies haha.

In the end I think you just have to choose one that you can afford because if you aint got the money then there is nothing you can do. People have given you their opinions......choose what you can and then judge for yourself what you like. And please let us know what you did and the result!

Can i suggest going bilsteins with tein S tech for the same price as some cheap coilovers. This will lower an inch or so lower than stock, handle well, ride well, and the quality of the shock is there.

Being easily/locally rebuild-able, when you have the funds, you can get a threaded height adjustable sleeve for them, some Eibach or H&R or Hypercoil springs, and a revalve to match, then slam the car, all the while keeping with the ride quality and control of decent gear.

if we get that technical yeah my wording has been wrong , sorry.

all im trying to say here if he has not had hsd or any other coilovers in his car , did not shock dyno them why call rest of us cheap because we have "these cheap" coilovers.

i have hsd and im happy with them that's all i said , i did not go and say those guys with 10k suspension setups have shit in their car because i read on internet how that certain brand is shit.

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
