Immobiliser is the only reason I'm lucky enough to still have my ride.

If it weren't for that I probably wouldn't have seen it again, and insurance has saved me more than once, would never have a car without it, especially something desireable.

no alarm and no insurance? i hope they will be the first additions to the car if it gets back on the road
sure will be

See Ric @ auto Perfection main north rd prospect for alarm, window tint, stereo installs and light mods but really anything he should be able to help you out

the do luck kit will be easy to spot, (yeh its called a do luck and nothing like a gtr)

i know there is only 1 other that drives around with it on

so wouldnt be hard to pick it if it went up for sale or you seen it around

would u keep a look out for us then. on the right side there should be 2 holes for number plate underneath others so maybe to look for that? there are cracks in the paint and on the left side of the kit there were 2 holes right next to each othr for cable ties

thanks!

welcome aboard josh, shame about the car mate

cheers Dan.. its bullshit if you ask me.. but regardless of me not being insured, we really shouldnt HAVE to worry about crap like this.. and Yes, i know i shouldve been insured and had a decent alarm but in this case i didnt, plus living 3 blocks maybe 4 from westfield complex i thought i wouldnt have to worry coz i aint that far down south or anything.. i didnt exactly know the area was notorious for this kind of crap.. as i only just moved here a couple of months ago? at this point there is nothing i can do

let this be a lesson to you i guess....a harsh but a lesson that you will never forget....buy a car, insure it straight away, make sure it has an alarm if not get one straight away....as most insurance policies wont cover you if you dont have an australian standard alarm.....no matter where you live or where you go these things are bound to happen...be prepared for it the next time....

sucks about your loss mate

remember car theifs have cars, they can drive places, shopping centres a big target. lots of options for em.

also less likely for them to be killed in the process by a disgruntled owner, i wouldnt want witnesses around to see what id do to a car theif :(

worlds best alarm still does not mean its not getting stolen thats why i just have a 2nd car to take to the shopping centre movies etc

Couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunantely the time and place we live in places more emphasis on making money from defecting a slightly loud or low car rather than preventing real crimes from happening.

Nowhere is safe.

check ************ mate bunch of dogs

long story cut short: mates dr30 got knocked off, 6 months later dr30 parts start showing up in *******, when previously they actaully laughed when asked if they had dr30 parts because of how rare they are. may sound like a coincidence BUT a friends young brother worked there as a lacky and when asked, confirmed they got a "full white 4 door dr30 with white walled tyres and polished rims" brought in and stripped for parts.

may sound like they "didnt know it was stolen? when the car got stolen one of the first places my mate went was ******* to let them know and if they do get offered any parts to call him straight away, and of course they didnt when they got his complete car!!

anyway he got cops involved but of course the car was gone and "he had no way of proving the rims were his" so cops did f**k all.

when the car was reported stolen the cops said it was the 6th import stolen from woodcroft that night! coincidence?

same story no insurence and no alarm got stolen from out front his house when he was working at night.

Mate, one thing you should get up to speed with pretty fast around here is the SAU Rules.

Having your ass dragged through a court on slander charges levelled at a reputable business (and I can vouch personally for this one) and a lifetime ban from this place is a very close reality for you......think before typing in the future pls.

sorry to hear about your loss anyway just letting you know maybe have a look in there you never know.

    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
