anyone here would recommend Nisscare in royal park? thinking of taking my car there for a gearbox check... :)

yes, would highly recommend them. they've been looking after my Patrol's servicing / mechanical for the last 18 months. Top service, not overpriced and they know their nissans (and other cars too)

what you hear and what you experience are 2 different things mate.....you can hear good things about a place and then you go there and the experience is otherwise.....

best thing is to go there and find out for yourself as to what type of place/people/customer service they have

I had a clutch put in by them some years ago in an R31. A few months later i had to replaced the gearbox, i decided to do this myself and when i got under the car i found that they hadnt tightened three of the bell housing bolts. i wouldnt go back. Just my experience with them however we are all human and everyone has bad days at work.

they worked on my sisters car and we got them to check why it was overheating, the replaced the top tank of the rad and the thermo and never even looked at the water pump or asked us if they wanted us to get them to do it

a week later water pump failed.

so yeh NO, go jms or smooth

Hey glad you had a good run with them. I took my car to them for an overheating problem aswell after hearing nothing but good things. 2 young guys came out with a torch... looked at it for all of 5mins and said they couldnt do anything for it and sent me on my way.

Best of luck lol

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
    • From memory it wasn't too hard to simply see which wire ran where when you plug that in. Unfortunately also from memory the OEM sender does not use the same configuration 99.9% of gauges run. So in other words if you connect the signal wire that was running to the OEM gauge to your DEFI gauge you might find your oil reads at 200C or some other incorrect value. I remember having the same line of thought and then running new wires/senders to match the gauges I have. The pinout is available in the R34 workshop manual.
    • Does anyone on here know which wire on the GTT triple gauge pod harness is for the oil temp gauge? my sensor works fine but I upgraded the gauges to DEFI advance. And if I can simply piggyback off the oem oil temp wire to the Defi oil temp sensor wire that would make life so much easier.
