I know asking this is like trying to catch a turd one handed in a pool but here goes . . .

I have a drift car and my mate is about to start using it up barbs , thing is he has never drifted before .

So im looking for a bit of tarmac anywhere thats on private land (ie not the street) to show him some basics .

If anyone has a trucking yard or something somewhere that we could use a few times it would be greatly appreciated .

I am 34 years old , a sensible adult (to some level) have a safe road registered drift car and most importantly , i know how to show respect to other people and there property so i wont be leaving any tyres/fires/explosives etc behind . Ill be handing over my phone no lic details etc to anyone that may be able to help out .

pm may be the go as im not interested in having 4 cars turn up at your property .

At the drift practice, if it is your first time to the track they send you out the back of the long straight were they have sent up cones to do some circle work and teach you the basics (there are 4+ trainers, which are just fellow drifters)

yeah im fully aware of this but you can only run certain dates /at night and im a driving instructor with a car . All i need is somewhere to use it and i can get a lot more training time in for my mate at a much more relaxed pace .

You're a driving instructor with a car?

Asking this question, of all questions, on a forum?

..........

Bring on the flaming.

BTW Barbagallo was a shit suggestion.

Doubt these guys want to pay for membership + cams license + everything to pass scrutineering, just to do some skids.

nic a31 i dont think you read the post properly .

you might want to re read it or maybee i should have put more info in it but i didnt want to be longwinded like i usually am .

The idea i was trying to get across is that if there is someone out there that wouldnt mind letting us use some space that they have that would be very nice and we would treat them respectfully .

I cannot see why using a forum to put out a request is a bad idea , espescially when i reccomended people that are genuinely able to help should pm rather than post .

Im just trying to do my best to do some responsible and safe driving AND be accountable for my actions while doing so .

If you want to promote street drift then i suggest you continue to shit on everyone who tries to avoid it .

PS: As an additional note we both already pay cams lic wascc membership and attend barbagallo drift sessions .

I'm sure he knew what you meant, winds himself up pretty tight on here. Nic, chiiillllllll bbrrrooooooooo!

For individuals, Sam (slydr) has a place with an area like what you need but from what I remember there is buses & all sorts of things being stored there but it's probably the same situation. But there is no harm in asking because some people could have a big, open area at their work... But if not, the Barbagallo nights might just have to do! They did also have drift lesson sessions at the AHG driver training centre, but since RAC took over I doubt they still happen

Thanks for the feedback ossie

Its pretty cool to hear that AHG used to have drift training . I thought they were quite anti drift . (been there heaps in various cars , you can get away with a bit)

As a point of interest ive been to the RAC centre for a tuning arvo after there change of ownership and its still pretty good value if anyone was wondering .

The first barbagallo tuning day for now is our first place to unleash some tyre tread .

Its a good way to start drift at barbs by doing some track farmiliarity during the day all day for 60 bucks . If its quiet well be able to get some good drift in .

AHG never had drift training... they use to allow abit of drifting till people took it too far and now they have come down hard on it.

be warn you will need to double check if you are allowed to drift at tuning days, barbagallo is pretty tight on when you can do drifting

I recall an article where a guy in bullsbrook was meant to be setting up a skid pan for this kinda thing?

Steve the guy in the article doesnt actually own the land so he can't really do much

The owner of that block lives in Albany

Also the locals spit the dummy not wanting the hoon element in their suburb

Yes they did have drift training, using both skidpans. The drifting they have come down on that you're referring to is during the actual driver training days..

When did I promote street drift?

No news recently about the Bullsbrook one, but if they ever did build that, 24 hours a day 7 days a week it'd be full of 17 year old bogan white trash and their Falcons/Commodores...great place for all sorts of shit to break out.

There are a couple of people in Perth that have their own private slabs...only one I know of off the top of my head is Slydr (Sam), DriftWA/Antilag.

i think i got lucky last time i was up there midweek . it was so quiet and relaxed no one really minded . i got to drift past a couple of guys after chatting with em to make sure they were cool with a bit of drift .

from memory it went something like . drift mor ? dude seriously more now .

just kept the speed up and the angle down .

Yer council never approved the skid pan in bullsbrook.

There are a few notorious truck stops around the perth area that people love to go to and do a skid.

    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
