ACA had the plates but choose to get ratings instead of take it to the police. which, if they did, would have found out the car had already been sold years ago and was only registered a few months after the video.

they make an attack video practically promoting vigilante justice, whatever that would result in to anyone driving a white s14 with a body kit. ACA couldn't give a f**k about peoples safety or fixing the problems, it would rather ratings.

the word hoon is like the new terrorist, it is DELIBERATELY not defined so they can get whoever they feel like. politics isn't about solving problems, it's looking like you have. governments will never resolve such issues when all they think about is band aid solutions. then again, why else do they call him, band aid brumby.

edit:

i'm actually surprised some of you guys took ACAs word on something about cars.

considering ACA is a fair and balanced news reporting program. lols

There was, at least he left his number plates on the car, so EPA or the popo's can catch up with him

popos LOL

Well apparently that car changed hands so the new owner will have to answer for it, some call it shifting the problems to someone else

Alr33x:

you dont know it wasnt blocked off at all your simply assuming. and the car has been sold and is track only for well over a year.. so shut up about the epa would ya's.

i cant believe this is a car forum some days soo much whinging and sulking when a guy gives his car some stick whether its this thread or another soo precious and concerned how people will think of you and your hover craft stock skylines (for the most part) get over yourselves, this guy got rolled hard by the media didnt do anything worse then i see on a weekly basis that you cannot stop unless government gets real and provides adequate facilities for this stuff to be moved off the street.

I have no problem with the presentation of ACA's broadcast of the story, there's no twisting of facts, and from the publics' point of view a worthy cause for concern especially if the matter hits closer to home than most people think.

Let's watch the video again :

And here's the unedited video :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDCfsWy1QZY...feature=related

Pretty much the same thing except the driver gets to say a few words in the second video that MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Looking at the conditions of the road and style of driving, he drives like a TRACK DRIVER who obviously has more skills than the average person.  Why take it to public roads to prove something where he could have easily proven it on the track?

Secondly, who gave the makers of this "youtube" video the right to CLOSE OFF public roads?

Thirdly, how would saying something about an audition in the video justify the outcomes?  Matters of the court do not care about HEARSAY, saying that "I'm doing it for Haiti..." or whatever doesn't give you jack shit for anything if it isn't backed up by written evidence signed by authority.  Who in the world is stupid enough to believe what you say?

unless government gets real and provides adequate facilities for this stuff to be moved off the street

Since when it is the government's responsibility to do that?

bozodos:

How do I have emotional bondage towards ACA?

You talk about your loathing not so much of the content but of the show itself.  Its fine not liking a TV show but trying to tell the whole world about it repetitively only mean one thing, you have issues. You are obviously more stirred up about a TV show than I am.

I like how you try and make out like it's all so clear cut and down the line without and further analysis or research of the situation.

The video is self explanatory, you can be 8 and still have the sense to know it doesn't look right.  The only reason why I responded in the first place was because there was this incredible outburst against ACA about their negative take on drifting and stunt driving on public roads! Are we on the same planet here?

You surely are the prime audience for these kind of TV shows.

I don't watch TV except eating in front of one but thanks for the generalisation.  Here's mine, those who leaves home or school early are not only more likely to misunderstand and abuse authority than those who don't, they are more likely to develop irrational opinions of politically corrective concepts like ACA.  Of course this is just a generalisation, brain storm it.

i've never seen someone products info to say otherwise.

produce?

thats a fkn novel of a reply.. ill keep it simple.

the story was a crock of sh*T and ill break it down for you.

ACA - HELP US CATCH THIS HOON BEFORE HE KILLS SOMEONE

they show an edited version of the video conveniently leaving out the part were he says his full fkn name aint no story in that though is there

so it was clearly a ratings attempt that was lame at best.. you have no first hand knowledge it wasnt a closed off road only speculation and i didnt say anything about court letting him off cos it was for top gear? soo umm i got no repsonse there.

oh and as for the government well i pay a f*k load of tax and even if they dont want to "provide" they can allocate and permit adequate facilities to be built by private sector to profit from..either way they have to be involved.

how this, an L plater no doubt with her Statutory Rapist boyfriend 'supervising' smoke her front wheels in her Honda as she tried to drag an Audi, just near princess pool hall. about an hour ago

So true, but the most important thing did she win?

On topic though the hoon problem and lack of any real solution is just like any real problem throw money at it and hope it goes away. Its just like education or health nothing ever changes unless it gets worse, politicians just make it loook like there doing something. Lets forget about the basics of freedom and rights, lets just take away these peoples car without trial without any real proof it doesnt matter as long as it appeases the idiotic public and the dumb f**k family groups (whos bloody children are the same people wrapping there cars around poles week in, week out)

i think rocklee is also missing the point that the video was not uploaded by the owner of the car

in fact it was uploaded at about the same time Ch9 bought Top Gear rights

The TG disclaimer for the stig applications also said that the drivers identity will not be released

Now, obviously there is something going on here...

If the government used the revenue from "hoon" laws to build race tracks/facilities and offset the running costs instead of using it for god knows what, then we'd all have somewhere to go to and use cars legally.

If you can honestly say that there are plenty of tracks in vic and they are all easily accessible, then you have must have your head so far up your ass its affecting your vision.

there's talk of a circuit being built here at the drag strip, I certainly hope so - there's about 5 or 6 dirt tracks here covering cars, motorbikes and BMX, but only a pissy 1/8th mile drag strip for bitumen! I think it would really change the way a lot of people here think about cars (ie straight line speed and power orientated) and therefore less likely to have people racing up and down the streets.

Even a public burnout pad would be a good means of tackling the problem of wankers in VN's HAVING to drop skids in Autobarn carpark every friday night and then those of us sitting around talking getting the blame for it.

Just a thought

"hood" synonym for "tax your ass" vis the +3km over the speed limit rule. wtf my speedo doesnt even resolve 3km easily, tho' that may be my closup vision :P

While there are masses out there they will be taxed somehow. if it's not for hooning it will be for jaywalking, singing too loud, looking too sad/happy, wearing socks with sandals, (insert your own thoughts here), etc

.

shit on it I say, but dont worry be happy.

    • That is way more science than even I would use. I just eyeball it, not even accounting for the non-verticality of the tape measure when held on the lip and the centre at the same time. +/- 2mm is good enough for the girls I go out with.
    • So, before putting them in I need to understand the stock ride height. This is how I measured it: First, check the diameter of the wheel's centre cap, it was 52mm. Then put a piece of masking tape approximately across the centre and measure 27mm (half) from at least 3 sides to get a reasonable idea of the centre of the wheel cap. Mark that with a horizontal line as one measuring point. Then, directly above the wheel on the guard, put another piece of masking tape in approximately the centre. Use a string line to find out the point on the guard above the centre of the wheel cap and mark that. Then it is simple, just a tape measure to check the distance from centre of the wheel to the centre of the guard. Final results where  LF: 381mm RF: 379mm LR: 401mm RR: 400mm Pretty even considering they are 120,000klm old factory springs, lets call that 380 front and 400 rear.
    • So....knowing that I have a problem with power steering temps on track and another Wakefield day booked in next Friday, I've done the obvious thing They are very reasonably priced at $1650, considering they are a big monotube shock, double height adjustable (don't have to change pre-load to change ride height), one way adjustable damping and standard sized and customisable springs if you want something other than what comes with them. They come with 9kg/mm front and 4.5kg/mm front and I went with that as a starting point because I'll add adjustable sway bars too https://justjap.com/products/bc-racing-coilover-kit-ds-ds-infiniti-q50-v37-14-current#description Unfortunately they didn't come with rear strut tops so I've re-used the factory ones which was a bit of a pain. Also, the adjuster for the rear shock will be an absolute nightmare to get at, and while there are extensions in the kit I can't see any way you can actually attach or use them
    • I also had 2 bulbs blow at once, years ago in the stagea. made for a fun drive home. The issue was the voltage regulator had failed in the alternator and it was giving 15+ volts. Really, I was lucky all that was fried were the headlight bulbs. So, I'd suggest you check the voltage across your battery terminals with the car running and warmed up. Yes, you will need a multimeter to do so, sorry.
    • Good work to think to check that, and thanks for coming back to post up the outcome.
