R33 Indicator Problem

i have a small problem with my indicators that has been happening since i got my car (June 08). When i flick the indicators left or right, all the flashers on the outside of the car work perfectly, but the opposite side arrow shows up in the dash cluster.

I've never had a problem with them flashing quickly, not cancelling etc, this is the only thing wrong. It's only a small problem, but it's getting a bit annoying!

anyone know what might be causing this? all the bulbs behind the dash are working fine, i thought maybe the wires had been crossed but all the bulbs are local and there are just 3 groups of wires all plugged into the back, so i can't really change anything.

sounds like maybe the wires in the plug in the back of the dash need to be swapped around

gross. so not attempting to do that, might have to contact an auto elec.

i wonder who would have swapped it in the first place?
