here we have little to no rules lol.

If its has, legal tyres, legalish tint a horn and working lights its pretty much good to go. obviously some places are picky-er but the's a few approved inspection stations that are not so fussy.

I agree with Mr. Untouchable. I have brought a few cars over from the mainland and the usual things that they look at are tyres and ride height and tint and a few other miniscule things. If there is nothing majorly illegal on it and it doesnt leak bucket loads of fluids, usually you just have to bring it over the pits... I would go to RACT and if they dont like you Big Al's Garage in Longford will like you :)

Have fun on our roads, (meeting the legal speed limit of course)

so what if u (found) :P the recipt from when u brought it?

that and some photo id should do the trick,

think they will ask u to sign a stat/dec.

there is usualu ways n means arround these things

I don't know the previous owners name or address because he lives in nsw and the guy I bought it from doesn't either. It's a bit of a mess. Looks like it won't be coming with me to Tasmania

Car is registered to someone in nsw. A bloke from Adelaide bought it and then I bought it from him. Meanwhile he has misplaced the transfer papers. That sums it up in not much detail.

I'm hoping if I get a statdec from the previous owner from the Adelaide owner. That should prove my ownership and then registering in Tasmania should go without any hassles.

EDIT... the car did come with papers. but they were lost while i was arranging to meet him and pick them up.

find a recipt aka, lil bit of fraud maby? ;) lol its your car, i know i wouldnt sell my car for a mild technical hitch :)

i'm pretty sure you can sign a stat dec saying you(?) lost the transfer papers in transit :P , but alternatively , you only need the reciept of sale from the person you bought it off as far as i'm aware?

sorry to hijack this thread. but does anyone know a flexible workhop on the northwest coast who will give me a roadworthyfor the 34? it has a few mods and the guy i took my wrx to was a picky bugger, he did give me the peice of paper though, however im pretty sure he wont for the skyline.

cheers

Good luck with the 'flexible' bit.

What you have to realise is that if they get caught they loose thier licence to inspect cars and its friggen hard to get it back again.

As such, you may think they are being picky but they are only doing what is legally required of them.

    • Sane enough. Remove the roof liner, because the acid will go everywhere.
    • Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help and experienced opinions.  I have spent a lot of my life working on boats so I'm pretty good with fibreglass. I'll take everybody's advice in here;  I'll cut a little more of the 2nd layer away as it's a bit crunchy rust and also it's sitting high now. Then I'll wire brush it all a bit to get off anything loose, then I'll soak the bejesus out of it all in rust converter. I'll make sure to get a little hose piece and feed it into all the holes and gaps between the roof layers. Then I'll fibreglass up the holes.  Then I'll get a pallet of filler and mix it with 3 buckets of hardener and hope that is enough to build up the roof corner.  Does that sound sane? Is one type of filler better than others for this?
    • My goals for it atm are to get it registered, respray and some mild power gains eventually... I picked up the car from an elderly gentleman near the border of NSW and VIC, its honestly a bit rough and looks like its been driven on a farm (because there was so much dirt underneath). Last week I dropped the subframe and emptied the old fuel out + added a new fuel pump (think the old one went bad from old fuel). Now I'm onto fixing a coolant leak at the rear of the engine + adding a new radiator as the old one is corroded. After that i have a new bumper, coils (as the old were leaking) and lots more
    • Welcome buddy! Plenty on here and YouTube. What are your plans for it? Good luck with the Rwc and Rego bud!
    • Love this so much! Please post a photo when you have a bike on the trailer.  I was a little bit worried about having a tow bar on the Skyline, but having it hidden behind the number plate is genius
