I've had a bit of a search but as usual i'm impatient.

Long story short, the Mrs's dad wants a new car, he's thinking of a c200 mer station wagon, i'm trying to convince him to go a stag (mercs are nice and all, but you pay alot for a name).

Problem is it needs to meet atleast a certain mark on the luxury specs.

I noticed on the 350 cruise last friday that someones ( i think it was yours Andy) had the same leather/suede seats as my 350gt premium has in it. I cant seem to find any pics of any other stags with this tho so i dont know if its a factory option.

Can anyone advise? Ideally i want to suggest an M35 with a 25det 4wd and all luxury bells and whistles. Auto is preferred i think.

I can answer you. If you are after swede seats, the only model is the Axis (or Axis S). They were released in 2004 to 2006, while 2007 it was discontinued.

Unfortunately, you cannot import a VQ25DET after 2003. So your only engine option is the VQ35DE.

Here's what the seats look like.

bah i'm getting myself ass end up again i tihnk...

ok so let me get this straight, the seats above are from the 04 to 06 axis/axis s? but the vq25det importing stopped at 03??

according to the m35 info sticky theres no compliancing for the vq35's yet is that still right??

The sticky needs to be updated as you can import/comply and register VQ35's now. Just check my sig, that's where you can buy them from. :)

With the seats, apparently, the 04 models had these in the Axis, then in 05 to 06, they had these seats in the Axis S, while the Axis model had the full tan premium leather seats, which imo looks (and I bet it feels) darn nicer.

Hi Simon

The 2 you saw on Friday were both ARX's and they have a tan Nisleather trim. (I think that is code for slightly recycled leather).

The PM35 is a great option the motor is very similar to the V35 you know already and the interior is a little more contemporary.

Cheers

Andy

nice... like the black arx with the tan... might show him that one.

Red350 RX4 is nice too... oh and the bathurst... but only if you throw it in as a freebie :)

Heh Andy my mind must be playing tricks on me. i could have sworn you had v35 premium seats in yours. oh well... no biggylooks like the current offerings are pretty nice.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
