Thanks so much for your awsome response to my questions :-)

Q1: i try not to get full boost every were, even though full bost is only 5psi!

Q2:I do alot of short trips

Q3:a litle bit of both, start stop and h/way cruisen

Q4: na i dont let the car warm up, it warms up pretty quick. i do have a 52mm alloy radiator in it though and it dose run pretty cool, is that a bad thing? i drove it down from sydeny to melb when i bought it and i was geting 10L/100kms siting on 100km/h i was real real babying it though because it had a cracked radiator full of stop leak LOL :-)

Q5: na dont drive on many hills.

Thanks for you great help :-) much appreciated :-)

how long ago was that? that pretty much says that your oxygen sensor (o2 sensor) is working, because if it wasn't then your economy would've been worse. but still be worth checking to make sure it hasn't died since then.

also doing short trips makes economy worse as the car never comes up to temp properly, so it is running on cold start enrichment for most of the trip, so your economy is down the toilet compared to driving a car that is up to temp.

when you say the car runs pretty cool, is the gauge sitting at around the halfway mark or below it? if below then i'd look at a new thermostat.

the radiator itself shouldn't affect how long the car takes to come up to temp or the temp that the car runs at as the thermostat does that by restricting the flow of the coolant.

basically any positive boost will make your economy get worse, but it's hard to accelerate without seeing positive boost.

as other people have said, check your tyre pressues, as low pressures increase fuel usage. and as someone said above, might be worth getting the timing checked, because if it is a bit retarded then you will have less power, so have to put your foot down a bit more to accelerate. also make sure you are only running the car on 98 octane fuel, because if you are running it on normal unleaded or even 95 octane you won't get quite as much power because the ecu will be backing the timing off, and it's not safe to do. a few other things to consider would be to do a bit of a service on the car and go through and replace things like the fuel filter, spark plugs and clean the AFM and even pull the o2 sensor out and see if it is all gunked up with carbon which might make it not operate at optimum levels. another possibility would be that the catalytic converter is a bit blocked.

Check the tuning of your right foot....

Nah seriously take your handbrake off...

Nah even more seriously, make sure there is no unexplicable drag on your car by parking it on a flat (level) smooth surface, place it in neutral and see how easy it is to push..You should be able to move it with just one hand...I had a car once where the handbrake had a habit of overadjusting all the time...This resulted in the handbrake never releasing properly...Skyline handbrakes (drum inside disc) aren't known for this but you never know..

Also check the position of the crank angle sensor...If everything is stock, the CAS should be roughly centred in the adjustment...If it is retarded (rotated clockwise) fuel economy will suffer...

ah thanks mate, will check the CAS tomorrrow :-) aND THE HAND BREAH lol Thanks every one, you all make this a great forum :-)

Yer me temp gauge runs at about 2/5ths up the gauge,(is that bad?) a bit below half unless its a hot day it will run at half. IVE hd a few turbos (r32 s14 Datto1600 L20bet) and i would never run me car on anyting but 98 fuel :-) What do ya clean the AFM with? me cats not blocked i checked that, it has a redback cat on it. dosnt look as good as me magnaflow one i had on me 200sx though :-( I drove it back from syd, about 2mnths ago, got i cheap, its a 4door for the misses :-) I got it for 2grand with nsw reg and drove it home, hahahaha turbo auto 200kms good paint and body, interiors as good as they come!... Runs realy good, no smoke, just uses a heapa fuel!

thank you so much for tryn to help me, this forum is awsome with fellas like you here :-)

it sounds like the thermostat may be a little bit dodgy as it should go up to about halfway and not really move even if the temp gets hotter.

to clean the afm, just get some electrical contact cleaner from dick smith or somewhere like that.

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
    • I hear that would involve some nice country road drives into the hills for Mark...
    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
