hi everyone. im hoping someone could give me a hand please. ive pulled a homemade boost controller out of my series 2 stagea( on there when i got it) and now i want to return the boost lines back to thier correct homes. can anyone help. theres the solanoid with the top and bottom connection spots. theres the wastegate conection, the conection on the compressor housing on the turbo and then i found one sneaky one cable tied shut on the pipe that runs from near the pod filter back to the bov. can someone please lend me a hand. or a pic of thier engine bay with the factory setup :)

i was told by the people that did my 100,000km service that it was installed wrong so jsut want it out

doing this from memory, but here goes.

top pipe on the solenoid is pressure feed (it shouldn't matter, because i don't think it's a 1 way mechanism, but from memory, that's how it is). run a vac line from the intercooler piping, to this. bottom pipe on the solenoid, is connected to the t piece. the hose with the restrictor(s) in it, goes from the t piece to the blow off valve return pipe (it's under another pipe, have a look around for a nipple). the last hose, goes from the t piece to the wastegate.

just in case i'm wrong, be gentle on the car when you put everything like this. if your car really surges, something isn't wrong. your solenoid might not be getting power, in which case, your wastegate isn't getting pressure and your car is free-boosting. this is bad for your car and your turbo. if you have a boost gauge (all turbocharged cars should), you should be running no more than 7 psi in standard form. the series 2 stageas run a dual stage boost control, around 5psi up to about 4500 and then 7 psi from there on. it is not uncommon for the stock solenoid to be grounded (by a previous owner), however, which will give you 7 psi all the time.

Nick's description is correct. While you're at it you may as well bypass the solenoid and get 10psi but you will need to find the restrictor in one of the lines and make sure it is in the bleed line (or else make one up from a weldind tip or by soldering up the bleed side of the T and drilling a hole in it.     • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
