Hi all,

Has anyone noticed the old showroom on Kingsway full of dusty 300z's just before the freeway entrance?

Map

I think this used to be owned by Spencer from Nissport who is out of business now... Seems weird that it's still there though.

Is his old mechanic Joe working at Dontex now?

is that what that building was, i have always wanted to know i think the building is up for lease at the moment, first time in at least 4 years

yeah Joe works at Dontex in Vermont now.

i didn't know about this showroom on kingsway, but he did mention that he had zeds in storage so you could be right.

nobody really knows what happened to spencer and nissport, just shut everything leaving cars and parts locked up in the other workshop too. i think the mordialloc workshop has a new tenant.

apparently he is working on rain water tanks now

It's no secret as you can see the Z'd through the glass when you drive past. I think Spencer must own this place as he was always talking about opening it back in 2002. It's been too long to lease it...

I was trying to contact him recently but don't have him number. Anyone know it?

I remember working around the corner from this place on Kinsway back in 1999 and the same cars were there. Every time i drive past, i still look out to see if the cars have moved. Theres a ZX, supra, FTO and once upon a time a Soarer. These cars would be in vertually brand new condition. Dont know if the engines would still be ok though.

I have also taken notice of this place.

Cars I have seen there were a Supra / 300ZX and a Soarer.

Like you said, covered in dust.

I thought it was some sorta performance / tuning garage or a placed that just sold parts.

    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
