Hi all,

My 1997 R33 Gts-t gearbox is crunching badly into 2nd especially when cold. The verdict seems to be worn synchros.

The question is do I buy a second hand one or get mine reconditioned?

I reckon for either option i'm looking around the $1500 mark give or take a few $

I'm thinking that buying a used one could mean just buying one just as bad or not far off sh#tting itself?

Any comments welome although i think i've answered my own question ha ha!

Oh and I'm in Perth....if that makes any difference

Cheers :D

I'd get mine reconditioned.

Award here in Sydney advertise around $600 for a major overhaul on most cars.

If you get a used one, it'll probably need an overhaul anyway.

I just had my oil changed, and made a massive difference. It was too heavy.

These gearboxes need a light weight oil.

Good luck mate.
