Evening!

I drive a lot... By a lot I mean somewhere in the region of 1500km/week... I am about 6 foot tall and weigh 100kg. Quite big shoulders and have to admit the waist could lose an inch or two :)

I am finding the standard GTR seat really uncomfortable on long trips. There are steel bars running up the side of the bolster at the very top that I didnt notice, and still dont, when going on short trips. These stick into my ribs after a while and I find myself shifting around on the seat after about hour number 2 on the road.

I am on the lookout for a set of comfortable ADR approved recliners for the front. Budget is not my biggest concern here, mostly that I can engineer them and that they are good quality as they'll get a crap load of use by my fat ass. :D I would still like them to hold me relatively snug and suit the car. I am keeping the standard seats so I can easily drop them in if I go to a track day or motorkhana...

Can anyone make a suggestion. I know the Bride seats are quite tight and thin... Anyone know if VELO make a recliner???

Cheers guys.

p.s. I know that I am putting a lot of Kms on the car, but i maintain them fastidiously and have the budget there for the ennevitable engine rebuilt/turbo replacement... :D

thought about R33 gtst seats? much wider in the back area and are adjustable for lumbar/squeeze from teh side bolsters - super cheap

only down side is they are about 25mm higher than 32 GTR seats so if head room is already a concern these wont be for you

Seen them anywhere from $1500-$2500 depending on condition.

But you can get copies for a lot cheaper, i've been eyeing these off:

Cheers for that... I have been trolling around and am unsure if the ones on ebay would be supple enough under the arse... Have sent an email through to a VELO distributor to see what they have...

Yeah R34 seats are awesome, the East Bear copies are just as good and come in black (which is better as it was only the v spec2's that had the black seats)

What about a Bride? RHDjapan have them on sale and some of them look ok?!

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
