Hey guys i have a R33 that has the following mods

Trust catback

3" dump pipe

de cat

blitz pod

boost tee 9psi

walbro fuel pump

Last time its returned 255hp 188KW at 9psi (dont want to go any higher and goes into R&R after10psi)

i have a Power FC, plazaman plenum, front mount and tomei FPR to go on next but turbo choice

Is the 3076R to small with the .63 rear for the 25? and would the internal gate or external gate be better i would love to run external gate but is iit worth the extra money

i want fast response and good midrage to redline pull i want to use the car for daily driving, drift and every now and agian drag and curcuit. power comes second to response and relaiblilty for me i wont be pushing it to the extreme but i want headroom.

Yes i have upgraded all the suspension and braking in preperation for more power :/

IMO the .63 is to small for the GT3076 (given its a 300rwkw(+) turbo).

If you want super response and a .63, then a GT3071 fits into the equation there much better.

It should make around 250rwkw give/take and should still hold nicely to redline. It won't be anywhere near the top end the GT3076 will have (in a .82)... but all comes down to what you want.

More response or more top end. Something always has to give.

External gate is not required either way.

Are you using factory exhaust manifold or not?

3076 .82 is still boring and small

go bigger if u want something that will scare u a little.. maybe 3582r .82 mmm

way to much lag for a 25. I wouldnt go that setup unless it was a 3litre. Even still i think the gt3076r 0.82 in a 3litre would be my first choice.

Id go for an external gate. I regret not getting one on my gt3076r

might be a bit laggy but once it comes on its fun :D

3076r arent exactly the most responsive turbo either. i dont see 20psi until 4100rpm

How would it scare him making 300rwkw?

All it's going to do is be overtly laggy for the power and a silly suggestion really...

If there was intent to make 370-380rwkw then fine, GT35...

Fact is he isn't so getting a turbo that's oversized, for upto 300rwkw, and will make it overall slower - totally against what the OP wants anyway.

cause ive got near 300rwkw with 3076 .82 and its boring only going off proof :D been in 350kw gt3582 and let me say alot more fun and alot f**king faster, but hey thats me

lol already bored with the 3076? should've kept your old turbo and get a set of cam gears :D . Well. I'm making 321rwkws out of it (hypergear build 3582 in .82 housing) at moment. I'm seeing full boost on 4300RPM, not much on 1st and low 2nd. but 4000rpm+ on 2nd, 3rd, 4th it flys. Need to get more traction.

and you need some thing bigger then .63 to work with a GT3076 core. But should be good enough for about 270rwkws mark if you can hold boost.

He has a factory motor mate... come on... use some logic.

Of course a 350rwkw car is going to be more "fun" above 100km/h than a 300rwkw car. On the street however you've gotta argue what's going to actually be faster.

Mine with 280rwkw is virtually perfect, when it had 370rwkw it was just impossible.

Running 350rwkw through a factory motor that is going to see some circuit/drift... It won't last very long at all.

With a 3071 it will cover EVERY single base thing OP wants and still be in the realm of reliability.

yeah i understand nismoid.. just dont want him bolting on a so called balanced turbo that isnt going 2 give him that "wow" factor lol not saying 3076 is completey boring but it just doesnt cut it i dont think even for 300kw range hey.. maybe im fussy?

sell it to me then...pm me if you REALLY want to get away from it.

must be internally gated though

Boring??? Small???

The 3076.82 i had on my car produced 370rwkw and had full boost by 3900rpm. Smashed anything on the rd and IMO a more of a handful than the GT3582.82 i have now.

Light switch power from low RPM compared to the gradual push of power from the 35R.

They are not as laggy as you think, a mate is running one on a stroked 2.4ltr 4cc vr4

    • Well, I'm tired. I'm tired because about 4PM yesterday, before today's appointment someone immediately bought my bumper. They couldn't get it any other day as they're on the way back to NSW. So I had to do that big GTR conversion I had been planning. Unfortunately, the information on SAU about what you need and how this is done is incomplete. So what should be a simple bolt on affair, yeah, it's not. Did you know if you use all GTR items the bonnet won't close? This little manuever sent me into about 1am the night before trying to dodge a way to get it closed. I will have to revisit this in the next few days  - or maybe not, I may let a body shop figure it out. It all needs to come up and my motivation to pull the bumper off is low. It also seems to hit things in the bay where the GTT bonnet didn't. Yes I used 100% new OEM GTR items. Today, I had the joy of driving to the dyno looking like this: Given I had roughed in the fuel and given sensible but pretty conservative timing, I didn't really bet on having the car drive out any real difference than when it drove in. Sadly due to a miscommunication and laptop fun and games (and almost bricking the dongle, prayers and firmware updates indeed), I ended up using HP Tuner credits to licence the car that was already licenced. So in the end my laptop was used. It turns out my butt dyno is still well calibrated after all this time. The 325kw was on 74% Ethanol, the 313kw line was on 98. The other line is the 'before' line which was 281kw. While the numbers are pretty low, they're pretty in line with what you'd expect. Even if US dynos bump the whole result up about 50KW, gaining 10-15% is similar gains.  The curve of the cam is pretty much spot on with what was discussed as well. All this said, it still feels bad to not see the number you secretly want to see. Even if the car drove great beforehand, and I knew pretty confidently the car would drive out much the same way it drove in due to the nature of a wellish dialled in LS1 not gaining much if anything at all from being tuned from where it was. As expected, the car isn't particularly sensitive to running it at anywhere between 12.0 and 13.0 - And the initial timing at 20deg and 12.0 made 308KW. So 3 degrees of timing, and leaning it out to 12.7 for 5kw, anything above stopped giving any benefit until E85 (which has an additional 2 deg as before). Car itself behaved entirely fine. I found out that 100C = 1.15V! IAT at about 7pm was 19C. I might mess with the bonnet mounting.. but given the REO NEEDS TO BE CHOPPED TO FIT A GTR BAR this is possibly something I may leave gathering (more) dust until it returns to paint jail.
    • It sounds farrrrrrr too cold at your place Duncan... Here I was thinking our 10 degrees overnight is getting cold...
