Hey everyone,

I have been looking for white dials for the dash cluster for an R34 for bloody ages and i can't find any, does anyone know where to get them from?

I'm talking about these things:

But for an R34...

Some of those or an actual replacement dash with white gauges? Because that's all i can find for R34's, the Nismo white face dash, but i'm not keen to spend $1000 on a dash and then not have the kms matching the car. I just want the white gauges lol

Have seen them before on an R34...trying to remember who's it was though... :)

It depends what you buy...if its just the plastic face of the gauge, you just take the speedo/tacho/etc needles off, new face on, needles back on and recalibrate it...if you swap the entire cluster, the odometer is an independent unit that can be swapped into the new cluster, or there easy ways or changing the odometer reading itself.

contact them and they may be able to help

Thanks for that Garry, i contacted them and it turns out the bloke has been working on them for 34's and will be putting them up for sale tomorrow, so i am officially his first customer! :)

Ok so turns out i'm still on the hunt, the guy said he was unable to replicate them successfully because of the shape of the dials. Makes sense as to why none exist for 34's as of yet... Damn Nissan and their making the dials complicated :D

Haven't tried, why's that?

i want to make it look like this, either spraying it silver or making a insert for it. i know it wont be the exact same as the gtrs one if i spray it but it will look nicer i think

if you do open up your cluster can you tell me if its easy or not.

i was thinking about this the other day when i was staring at my cluster in traffic..

pretty sure its too hard to do because of the concave shape of the dial face  its a no go, just go for some white led's, i have some blue leds in mine at the moment but there are some spots that are slightly brighter than others.. annoys me

anyone know of white dash leds that have a consistent level of illumination across the whole cluster?

Yeh that's why the guy couldn't replicate them. Bloody Nissan.

Awel, i might just go for the silver surround... Would look better with the white dials but what can you do. I've also got blue LED lights, white won't work because the dials have a blue coat on them that turns the white light into a pale blue. Did you get the lights off Dan (666Dan) on here? His kits are quite good

could be the crappy positioning of bulb holes at the back of the cluster seems like there needs to be at least 2-3 more holes to give more light. ive done a few colours on different cars and always same result.

Wouldnt mind new faces for the 2 clusters also, triple gauges on 34's are pretty old/boring looking. but instead of white i would prefer black maybe glossy but then could reflect too much light?

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
