Hey guys,

Im about to add a set of HKS Hipermax 3 coilovers to my 32gtr and im wonder what other suspension components are recomend. The car is only used for street and all im wanting is improved handling and to lower the car abit for the time being. At the moment im looking at front and rear adjustable camber arms. Any particular camber kits do you guys recommend and any other bit and pieces do you think are worth purchasing?

Cheers,

best off to get a front upper arm bush kit and either a rear camber bush kit or a rear upper control arm.. thats about all you will need to correct it... if you want to go further, some castor rods or some adjustable castor rod bushes and a hicas lock bar will make a good difference to the handling, without losing too comfort.

it all comes down to how much you want to spend..

The more you lower the car the more adjustables you'll need to be able to get the alignment to something sensible. Strongly suggest you dont go lower than 350mm front and 340mm rear as the handling turns to poo if you do. Front should be rear hight +10mm. Measure from wheel centerline up to the guard lip.

Agree with NZM on the bushes, but what you need depends on hight. Avoid rose jointed arms on a street car.

Other than that sway bars and an attessa tweaker.

Hi Guys,

My front left castr arm bush is leaking and busted !... Why do we want to avoid rose jointed arms on a street car?

Also what is good to replace these with? And where can i get them and what am i looking at paying?

Should i also replace rears or just the front..

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
