Hey guys,

I'm tossing up between these two tyres because Tempe have quoted me the same price for both tyres in 18 inch.

Any suggestions which way I should go?

Regards,

i could be wrong but i think the 452's are meant to be the more expensive tyre model and is available in larger sizes. both have similar reviews from what i can tell.

I've 912's on both the R33 and FTO. Nice long wearing tyre. Excellent wet handling.

My tyre guy said the 452's would be better if were going to trackdays.

I think they're a softer tyre so less life. Correct me if wrong.

Thanks for that mate! Yeh every one of the tyre guys have been telling me to get the 452's, but they also seem to be the only ones in stock. Both Tempe and 7 Day Wheels and Tyres seem to be out of it when I call up and ask if they have any.

How are the 912's in terms of ride? quiet? bumpy?

I got quoted $180 for the rears & fronts. Tempe said $180 each and 7 Day Wheels and Tyres said they would match it.

When my car was complied, I paid $250 each for the Fronts and $300 each for the rears, so they are great prices. The 452's are soft though, only got 20,000km out of the rears.

Has anyone seen prices like that in Brisbane?

Hi All,

How do the Falkens compare to Bridgestone RE001 tyres?

I would say they are both good grippy tyres in the dry. RE001's have a bit of a problem in the wet so reckon the fk452's would be better.

I am currently running RE050A's on my V and have read articles that test them as pretty much equal to the 452's but nearly double the price.

I also have a second set of wheels with an early Jap domestic market model of the RE001's and while great in the dry they are absolutely terrible in the wet. Make the stability control come on nearly every corner.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
